Something else that is different, I'm 67 years old and when I was a kid/ preteen the chicken dark meat was a lot darker in color and juicier. It had way more flavor than the drumsticks and thighs are today in most grocery store chicken.

I love you taking the time to talk about jarlic. Like, if I’m making a particularly nice dinner for an event, or otherwise making a dish I know garlic is a main focus, then I’ll definitely take the time and dice fresh garlic cloves. When I’m just cooking for myself, though, I barely have the energy to even cook the food itself, let alone to contend with garlic as a part of the food prep, so I’ll throw in some jarred garlic to taste and roll with it.

Maybe it's just the brand I bought but the jarlic I've experienced is almost...sweet? Like not GARLIC-y at all, like someone squeezed a couple drops of garlic juice into a jar of unsweetened apple sauce (exaggeration but not inaccurate). My go to is garlic powder or fresh.

I'm not going to lie, the spices at most grocery stores whether they're walmart or whole foods are really poor quality. I've personally found that the best spices tend to be found at ethnic grocery stores like local Indian, Middle Eastern, or Chinese grocery stores. @@stumccabe "Profligate government spending" the Tory government has been slashing public spending year after year after year. The spiralling inflation is a combination of supply chain disruptions and massive opportunism by corporate actors. I worked in the produce industry and WalMart was one of the worst places to sell to. They wouldn't let something through for bs reasons, that grocery stores all over the country didn't have issue with, and then tie up the sale making the fresh quality go down. They could tie it up for up to a week (while the produce was sitting in refrigerated trucks, but still a week makes a big difference), at that point they would either offer to buy for pennies on the dollar or reject it. At the point it's no good and gets scrapped or donated. We and a lot in the industry would get tired and only sell to them last. This coming from a place that could sell 50+ semi truck trailers of product a day across the country.

I always laugh when I hear your Whole Foods commercial/ad on AHIAS, after remember how often you roast them on the podcast, and MK episodes like this one.
