The Warped Vinyl has a lot more versatility but the Julia is soooo transparent, I love it! Ps: not bad for the CE-5 Great video!

The CE-5 sure does a great job of keeping the classic Boss chorus sound from the CE-2.

personally i think the julia was maybe best all-around, not too muddy, not too shrill, plus the waveform toggle it provides is nice for spice, but honestly i was surprised by the CE-5, and i didnt realize the compression on the lofi junky was that good even though i knew it was something it featured

Julia is lush and sounds good in every setting. Sounds amazing with dirts.

So I'm listening to this and doing other things simultaneously so I'm not SEEING the pedals as you compare them. During the strict chorus tests at the beginning, I found myself coming back to this tab every time the CE-5 was on. It just sounded very animated and more like what I imagine when I think of chorus as compared to the others. I didn't love it's vibrato sounds but I also didn't expect it to win in that category. The Julia was impressive, but it didn't run away from the competition like I thought it might. The part at the end when you display the range of the Lag control was the most impressive sound for me, but I don't think I'D like it in my setup actually. The Instant Lo-Fi made me come back with its clear compression of the signal and the vibe it really does give everything. It felt like the odd-pedal-out in this lineup but not in a bad way. It's just different. I expected to come away thinking the Chase Bliss would be best because I generally hold them in high regard and it did end up my favorite with the CE-5 being a much closer second than I thought. The vibrato sounds were KILLER. The Lo-Fi, static noise sound actually really won me over and the pure depth of the pedal is what helps it shine through. I almost consider each of these to be totally different animals after this review though I can see how one can steal another's sounds. If you ever get a chance, try out one of the Source Audio One Series mod pedals and play with the sounds in there. In particular, there's a vibrato/tremolo sound based on old Magnatone amps that REALLY gets you that Warped Vinyl vibe. Overall, thanks for this and sorry for the short novel.

Warped vinyl is awesome. My fav chorus sounds are in my Moog cluster flux (home and studio) and live in my Tc electronic corona chous. I have a boss super chorus I scored used for $49 and I like it too. It will stay in my collection. This was a very cool comparison I’ve wondered what the Julia was all about in comparison to these others since the walrus Julia I feel gets more hype. I had fun with the warped vinyl borrowing it off pedal genie kept it 2 months loved the rotating speaker sounds it gets. Very cool demo/shoutout subscribed to your channel ✌️

As a massive chorus junky for years who’s owned MXR Stereo Chorus, Vintage EHX clone theory, vintage CE2, a bunch of affordable Yamaha/Guyatone/Korg MIJ 2 or 3 knobers, Malekko Omnikron, vintage Boss Dimension D… I can say that my current line up of Lo Fi Loop Junky and Boss CE-300 are my favs… but I might add a Malekko Thicken.

the julia and warped vinyl were my favorites. CE-5 was my favorite broken vibrato sound. That zvex pedal sounds like it's doing compression rather than chorus.

My favorite chorus is Boss CE-5. Electric or acoustic set up, it gives me all i need. Plus, i hook up a small powered monitor in the stereo output in an acoustic gig. Now, i want a Julia.🙃

Very cool comparison video. The Warped Vinyl has so many options and had the overall best tone for how I would use one of these pedals.

Julia or CE-5 for me I like MKII WV but it was so dark. I still wonder how these pups handle dirt and who does it the best

just ordered a lo-fi junky, I absolutely love the compressed warbly tones you can get out of it but damn is the julia nice. damn.

Warped Vinyl had a hi-cup or something, just sounded muffled. Good if you want that kind of sound, and the most versitile for sure.

I thought all of this was great and I know not everyone is singing Zvex’s praises (ce-5 is getting the most love for sure) I’m not saying it was an unfair competition, but I feel that the lo fi junky’s strengths weren’t played off well here. Not to say it was a bad demo, but the junky’s definitely better at getting weird and funky than the rest of these more conventional choruses. So if you’re in the market for something different and weird, but still totally usable. Consider the zvex lo fi junky

IMO the CE-5 is warm but the chorus effect doesnt seem as natural as the others Lo-fi is also warm but sounds a little thin compared to the others The Warped Vinyl sounds great but isnt as transparent as the Julia. The Julia has a strong pressence in the mids, almost shrill but has a lot of different cool sounds you can make. I wish it had a tone knob. Can't go wrong with the Warped or the Julia. I'm going with the Julia bc its a favorite with bass players and I want one for both instruments

Make another video where you set them to the most seasick setting you can find and then turn em all on Also this is a great video I'm just gonna buy all of them

I have a Ce2, ce3, Ibanez csl and ce5...and it's a great pedal too especially with distortion. I'll never sell it.

The Zvex Instant Lofi Junky seems to be the most "transparent". As in adds the effect gut doesn't change the guitar's tone.

The ce5 is surprisingly good especially since its more than half the price of everything else on here. But I'd rather pay 200 for the Lofi or Julia just because the square wave sound of the ce5 vibrato would drive me insane after 5 minutes

Hard to tell which one is on/off. Sometimes it's clear but other times it's not IMO.

Two things... First, i have a Warped Vinyl mkII, and (for my sorrow) not have enough space in my board, to add Julia ... Second ... The Boss CE-5 has really ugly sounds at vibrato settings in this video ...
