Walt Disney themed Micro Train Layout(N Scale)

My daughter just graduated college and is now going to Walt Disney World to work on the(WDWCP) college program starting this August(8/2022). She asked me if I would build her a micro train layout for her and her roommates apartment. This is a N scale layout that is built on a 2" piece of construction foam. The track is Kato 6" radius, and the layout is themed Disney with a POP Castle, and a recently purchased 4-4-0 steam engine I bought from the Walt Disney Family museum .

nicely done my creative friend. May want to look into a slide-out battery tray as batteries on the bottom are problematic.😁

Excellent video, my wife is a big Disney fan, she really liked it. May I ask where you source your DPDT switches, and is there a variable speed DPDT version (I am not very knowledgeable in small electronics)?

The switches are bought on Amazon, very inexpensive. Just search DPDT toggle switch. As for the variable speed with forward and reverse. I wish they had something like that. I’ve never checked. I usually buy a pulse width modulation (PWM) speed controller when I want to control the speed. PWM will put out a constant voltage(12v) and vary the time on vs the time off of the pulsating dc. This will allow a train to craw at a very slow speed with out stalling., also not expensive . You can buy several switches and a couple of PWM speed controllers all for $20.00 if you search. Amazon has it all. I’m going to have to search for the single switch for speed and direction, that would be cool. Thanks for watching!
