I love the different puppies' traits and personalities coming through in this scene. Roly's insatiable appetite, Patch's aggression, Lucky's TV addiction, Penny's worship of her father...it all helps to build the family picture so well, and makes you root for the dogs even more during the rescue mission later on!

Perdita's suspicious look at Pongo and his guilty face after Patch's bad language is my favorite shot of the entire movie.

"He's even better than dad" "No dog's better than dad" I don't know why but that is the cutest moment here for me personally.

Patch was always my favorite dalmatian puppy. Even the spot around his eye makes him look really badass, kind of like a canine version of Alex from A Clockwork Orange.

I love how little Lucky sits down and wags his tail when they tell him to stop blocking the television. So cute. I remember loving this movie as a kid, and when I was hungry I would always say to my mom "I'm hungry mother, I really am" haha 😂

This whole movie is cute, but this is one of the cutest scenes! Cruella has always been my favorite villain, but I can't deny that the puppies are sooooooo cute! LOL

At 2:02, it's like the voice Paul Frees would later use for one of the trolls in Rankin-Bass' The Hobbit. At 2:18, it's like the laugh Frees would later use for Meowrice from Gay Purr-ee when the evil cat fought Jaune-Tom on the train. The Dirty Dawson's expression at 2:14 and Thunderbolt's expression at 2:20 are formidably impressive.

I remember having a stuffed dalmatian that looked a lot like Patch, and I named it after him. I don't remember if I sold it or not. I might check the garage sale boxes if it's still there. Anyways, several years after I eventually stopped playing with it, I got a job at the animal shelter and we recently rescued a dog who happened to be pregnant (she's going to give birth any day now). While she wasn't a dalmatian, she did resemble Patch because the black spot on her eye (she also had a few black spots on each ear, but everything else was white). Since our name theme was Disney names, the staff let me name her, and I chose Patch as her name due to the black spot on her eye. We all agreed it was a perfect name. If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't be rewatching this.

Been a long time since I’ve seen this animated original. But after revisiting the 90’s remake a while back, I can say this one is better by a mile. Especially with the family interaction!

Fun fact: In the book, the puppy that was the runt-that-almost-didn't-make-it & TV obsessed was a girl puppy named Cadpig (that same one from the TV series), but yet for some odd reason they gave those traits to her brother Lucky, while Cadpig isn't even in the movie (or maybe she's one of the other female puppies on screen that barely got any lines).

I love how the bots have a red colar and the girls blue.

At no point during the entire movie are all 15 original puppies seen in the same shot. In this scene the most is 13 in the very first shot from behind of them. There is always at least or two missing from the shot.

when you are young you relate to the puppies bothering the adults. When you are older you relate to the adults being bothered by the kids

While the Damatians look to be white and it is generally perceived that they are in real life, this is actually not the case. They are very light grey. This proved good to animators as animating white dogs during the snow storm scenes near the end of the movie would be nearly impossible. Dalmatians are also very light grey in real life, too.
