Thanks for your post. I have a Walther P22Q and for the most part it has served me well. The slide on my P22 cracked like yours did. I sent it to Walther. Walther service replaced it in one day. Shipping both ways was about 2 days.

At 5 cents that’s almost 10k worth of 22lr

My P22 has maybe 5k rounds through it and it looks like it. The finish is wearing off of the slide from holstering and the parts fit is a little sloppier than it used to be. There’s little areas in the slide that have been worn down by internal moving parts. And those zinc slide guides on the frame should have some wear with that high of a round count. The slide and frame are zinc. I don’t want to question his round count, but I have a really hard time believing that a P22 is physically capable of 19,000 rounds, let alone 190,000. I’m not questioning his integrity - I’m sure he has no reason to make up numbers; I’m just really surprised. That’s like having 5,000,000 miles on a Saturn.

@@CutlassOutdoorsTwo possible things. He mistakenly typed 190,000 instead of 19,000 which is still a lot. Or it's pure BS.

Are the holster the same for the P22 and the P22 Q, I'm having a hard time finding holsters for the P22 Q but there's plenty for the P22. Thanks

Sorry, but real P22 (gen1) has totally different polimer frame. Also metal slider in your movie looks like P22Q.

The gray is a p22q, the black is earlier, had to file down and smooth out the places to help it function properly.

I always heard that the p22 was America's sweetheart 22lr plinking gun because of its reliability. So I bought one and am waiting for it to come in but have to say that after digging a bit deeper into the model the general word on the street is that if you get a 'good one' and not a 'lemon' it will shoot like a champ. That really isn't what I wanted to hear. I plan on running it through the gauntlet to see what it will take. After 500 rounds or so, if it has problems then I'll look for wear patches on the slide etc. and do some buffing and polishing to see what happens. I don't expect to much because after all, it is a fairly inexpensive pistol. Either way, it's all about the fun and the journey.

yr likely going to want to polish your feed ramp and barrel bottom divet with a dremel polishing pad. (i did) then also you will want to get a captured recoil spring and probably the tandem cross extractor and firing pin internals for like 20 bucks each. Having done these things - whether i had a "champ" or a "lemon" its now a "champ" it went to the range yesterday and shot an entire box of SUBSONIC AMMO (600fps aka slow as fuck) without a single jam. I then shot a box of cci stingers and also had no problems i shot with control first both times and then did mag dumps to finish - twice for each ammo type and the gun fired as fast as i could pull the trigger with problems. Polish the feed ramp, its a no brainer. bullet go in feed ramp then into breech so polish feed ramp n have good gun unga bunga.....

How is it shooting?

@@irongoose3865 It's definitely finicky on what type of ammunition that cycles best. I love the way it shoots and for me, it has a great feel. The most frustrating thing is the poorly designed front sight. Out of the box it wiggles back and forth and of course this affects accuracy considerably. Why Walther hasn't fixed that I don't know but it is an almost universal complaint.

@@randmayfield5695 I was just thinking. Maybe some JB Weld on the backside of the slide might secure it? 🤔 Or kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nqiRqqR0vtzImI0.html

@@irongoose3865 Hey, thanks for the suggestion and 'link's. It is greatly appreciated. I watched the Hi Viz instructional and decided to go with that because the sight is metal and attaches with a set screw. Your JB Weld suggestion was a good one but I am looking for a longer term solution. The front sight is plastic so it's just a matter of time before it gets knocked off. I also upgraded to the TK ejector and firing pin. I had three weak strikes and a few failure to eject issues with CCI Stinger ammo so what the heck, it will be fun to see if it makes a difference. Thanks again for your help. Stay safe.
