So I wrote a gospel song a few years ago, its titled Wamkelekile.
I've always considered, there was a something that sustained the humans who were/are our ancestors (the ones who lived before us). through the good and the bad. Its even more intriguing to think that the god of some of our ancestors is Jehova, a foreign God according to written history and colonialism. But as our parents pass away, and become "Okhokho", when we call upon their gods, who is/are these gods and spirits, and what is the value to returning to the gods of our forefathers, and the even more ancient spirits (just because of their association with an African aesthetic) that failed to get us and their land out of the 20th/21st century mess that came with the new gods?
