I didn’t go to Wan Chai often during my teen years living in Kowloon so just don’t have much memory about such place . Now thanks for this video which offering me a revisit . It’s much different than 50 some years ago , naturally . 👨🏻‍🦳 ☕️🥨🍰🍩🥮. 🇮🇹🇺🇸

Picture not bad, would be nicer if there are more narrative or subtitles and the passages through various streets more structured. Also even better if there are more focuses on interesting stores.

Wan Chai! I don't know it's meaning but it sounds like Thai word.

Wan Chai originally began as Ha Wan, literally meaning "a bottom ring" or "lower circuit". As one of the earliest developed areas in Hong Kong along the Victoria Harbour, Central ("centre ring" in Chinese), Sheung Wan ("upper ring"), Sai Wan ("western ring") and Wan Chai are collectively known as the four rings by the locals. Wan Chai literally means "a cove" in Cantonese from the shape of its coastal line, however, due to drastic city development and continual land reclamation, the area is no longer a cove.

@@mystreettour Thanks a lot for your kind explanation. Wanchai in Thai means victory day or day of victory. Its regarded as auspicious name so many parents named their kids Wanchai.

wan chai where all the action is...titte bars--wet markets, dai pai tong, trams, offices , hotels, baths, susie wong, real hong kong.... wat a city...of noise, smells n action
