The New redeveloped Mutanabbi street! this was recently done, it wast like this last time i was here in November/December! the did a great job with the place! i was here the day before doing some filming on a project for friends that will be tourism related....i am doing a behind the scenes days filming on that.
i was going to go alone but tool a local with me to help with any translation issues, but i will go again for sure , even alone. The atmosphere is just amazing, and if you manage to watch till the end , i will probably regret including my emotional outburst. I was just very emotional doing the Editing and remembering tonights moments and the people. A night i wont forget...the other night had some special moments off camera also.
ive been trying to upload as much in the "present time" as possible , but i honestly had no idea how time consumig this all is! im not stopping though!

Yes the media focus on tiny bad thing and gives impression that the whole country is same. I cry rivers everyday over what happened to Iraq my country, it was once the most developed and civilized country in the middle east with high percentage of educated population, beautiful clean streets, neat buildings, great educational facilities and institutions etc etc 40 years of non stop meddling in Iraq and Iraqis affairs, my people and this country deserve better and they were never given a chance for 40 years 💔💔💔 thank you for sharing and showing the beauty of this great country

Emma, you are the Goodwill Ambassador for all of these countries. You are showing the beauty and kindness of the Iraqi people. The real issue with the media is that they want to focus on the negativity in these societies instead of what the majority of it is, and that is good and kind. This is where people like you who take the time and do the work so that we can see what really Iraq is like. I am not naive and I know that Iraq, like every country on earth is not perfect, and has its problems. However, if the average person in the west watches videos like yours, the perception would change immediately. You are convincing many people to come see for themselves and get to know the beautiful people and sites of Iraq.

Iraqis in general, in all circumstances, are happy and kind, especially with the guests. Many tourists came and spread this and showed the world the true face of the Iraqi people. The media, which only publishes lies, and I congratulate the tourists with all my heart for the achievement they have done to reveal the truth of the Iraqi people. Being outside Iraq, but I am from this country and I know very well the kindness of our great people. There is an Islamic religious visit to the more moderate Shiite sect called the visit of the forty, and this visit comes to all people from all over the world. Through this visit, the Iraqis are preparing with joy to receive the people warmly. Where they set up tents from the city of Basra to the city of Karbala. . To serve people coming to Karbala. And if you come to Iraq, do not ever be confused about accommodation, food, or anything else, because the Iraqis will welcome you with joy.

@@anthonydmarco4245 بالعكس كلمة ( طافر) مصطلح متداول بصورة طبيعية في العراق،، ليس من باب الاساءة ولم اتوقع انك بهذا العمر لم انتبه توقعتك ما زلت شاباً ومتعود على هذه المصطلحات في هذا الجيل،، على سبيل المثال نقول لشخص ما (ليش ما تطفر لأوروبا) او فلان طفر لأوروبا،، او اطفر من العراق واخلص،،، والدليل انك كررتها علي بالفطرة وقلت لي ( لو تصحلك فرصة تطفر من العراق) حتى وان لم تداولها سابقاً مع ذلك انا اعتذر منك اذا جرحتك في الكلام

You made me crying, all people are so nice, the old man, tea man and the boys particularly the one who invited you for a tea. Yes Iraqis like tea I do remember my father was drinking it more than ten times in a day. I miss iraq my original country I can't traval because of new zealand traval restrictions

Thank you, Emma, I spent a big part of my childhood in Mutanabbi Street, my father had a big bookstore since 1952 and Saddam forced him and another bookstore also a huge place to print books to leave the building just because the Government wanted to sell the Building, I sow you passing beside my father's Building, I haven't been in Iraq since 2008. Thank you Emma. Probably you missed one thing there; The Iraqis, when they greet a nice person they say: You are on top of my head, meaning ( You are like a crown on my head). Another gesture they make too is: They put their hand on their chest, meaning: You are in our heart. By the way, your video made me emotional. I live in the states right now for ten years now.

I hope the world will see the truth and know that we are normal, we welcome guests, we love life and we enjoy many things, we love hiking, football, travel and so on. We are not angels but we try to be good every day, everywhere there is the good and the bad, stop judging people. Very nice brave humanist lady...just today Idiscoverd by chance but I spent all day watching her youtubes...I am very sad to what happened to my country.For example Fao was a british made small but very beautiful city ..british style buildings and gardens with very nice families and maby houswifes from England ..they were wifes of Iraqi engineers and doctors studied and graduted in UK. If you visit Fao fifty years ago most people speaks english..a very nice city like any small city in Scotland ....imagine the disaster....
