Dear Garima, in this episode of your Bangladesh trip you have handled with a super sensitive issue of Bangladesh Govt. Actually these Bihari Muslims are being treated as traitors as they had supported Pakistani Army during the independence struggle of Bangladesh and acted as informers during the war of 1971. In my opinion Bangladesh Govt. has showed mercy by allowing them to stay in that country and by their way of talking and lifestyle it is evident that they are not in a very bad shape! I am shocked to hear that they are openly abusing the Govt of the country where they are living!! It shows their intention and character! We have these type of people here in India also, although in small quantity. But the thing is, be careful when you cover some of the super sensitive issues which involves the Govt of that country otherwise you may land into trouble! Good luck.

Didn't Bengali Muslims support Pakistan? Wasn't Sheikh Mujibur Rahman a minister in the Pakistan government in the 1950s? Were Jamat e Islami leaders Mir Quasem Ali and Motiur Rahman Nizami hanged in 2016 Biharis? Do THEIR children and grandchildren suffer like these Biharis do?

I‘m German and I love your country, I visited many times from the 1990s onward. Allow me some criticism. If some person has acted as a traitor during indepenence war of 1971, this is sad. But 53 years have passed since. Who is willing to blame half a century old events on the people I see in this episode. Obviously, most were born after the war. Would you agree that the young ones should not be blamed for things that happened long before they were even born?

Don't be afraid to cover even sensitive matters. Sensitive issues only revolve around middle-aged and elderly people. Most of the new generation has no concern with such things. @@kumar7586 no....only voter card given to Biharis living in camps., still waiting for by birth national ID.... Biharis own properties, jobs, businesses were grabbed and looted in 1971 in their own cities , they were placed in refugees camp. Their ancestors were Indian, new generation is by birth Bangladeshi. Modi has good relation with BD, he should ask Bangladesh to give them national ID, passports , job, businesses, property back to them. India made possible to create BD and made BD Bengalis to enjoy independent country. These by birth Biharis citizens born after 1971 did not helped pak army ...... So why they are punished without ID and passport. only Red Cross is helping them.Sorry to disturb you.... Thanks Kumar. Have nice health and happy days.

@@adnanahmed4012 Look, once their grandparents crossed over into East Pakistan in 1947, they ceased to be Indian citizens forever. How can Modi ask Bangladesh government to improve living conditions for them? That is Pakistan's responsibility. These people fought for the unity of Pakistan. They have been waiting for more than fifty years to move to the promised Muslim homeland - Pakistan! Therefore they are far better Pakistanis than Punjabi or Sindhi Muslims who are just born Pakistanis. It is a shame that the Pakistan government has ignored them completely. Had they been Punjabi or Sindhi Muslims, you could bet your life that they would have been in Pakistan in 1972 itself. Your government would have moved heaven and earth to bring them to Pakistan. The root cause of their problem is that Pakistan simply doesn't consider them Pakistanis!

I am a Bangladeshi and feel very sad about how the Bangladeshi governments and people treat them so poorly. Not all of them supported Pakistan Army atrocities. This is completely wrong. Bangladesh Government must give them total citizenship.

Mere Behen, Sat Sri Akal, we as Bangladeshi people never mind that my Bhari Bhi should live here. But the issue was, as far as I know, our Bharis wanted to go to Pakistan, and they demanded many times, but Pakistan did not want them. So, what should be done? The government is something else completely. The government of Bangladesh does not even work for Bangladesh itself. The discrimination exists because they do not want to be here. Yet, we Bangladeshis do not see them as lower than us or upper than us. Remember, the way you are going about Bangladesh, even in India, you can't do that, and any Bangladeshi can't do like you doing and enjoying our love. It all began with Hindu Supremism thinking. Anyway, Panjub, is very different from the other parts of India. It is a hundred times better than even West Bengal for us. I visited Amritsar many times. The Punjabi people, the villagers wanted wanted to stop our bus because they wanted us to share a meal with them. Such beautiful people. But I like all people except those who think they are better than any other people, no matter what color, religion, nation, or country. Thanks, Sat Sri Akal !
