Helpful hint - for the "Front Legs" instead of trying to find the "Dowel Centers" at your local Home Building Supply, just do this: Take the original bolt from the existing bracket, and place them in the 1/4 inch holes drilled in the fabricated plywood front legs. The head of the bolt will serve to indent the plywood base when you smack it down (as shown in the video). To add another level of certainty, I scraped a piece of chalk across the top of the bolts before doing the smack down. A nice pink hexagon indented onto the underside of the plywood base. Easy!

So I just watched a video where somebody installed a goose products base plate. Yours seems so much more well-thought-out and sturdy. It's laughable the way the goose one attaches, it has little sheet metal brackets that bolt underneath the factory tie-down hooks, and have two threaded holes that the plate in turn mounts to.

This is great! I just subscribed. I've seen a few of your videos pop up on my feed here and there, and I've enjoyed all of them. Also, I just picked up a 2013 4Runner Trail, so the 4Runner videos especially interest me. This is really cool, I like all the attention to detail and the clever thought process you put into this. Mine came with the stock factory slide out, it's rated to hold 440 lb. I'm thinking I could probably just ratchet strap the fridge right to that. Just curious, if you would had the slide out, would you have done something similar, or do you prefer the setup that you use for your own fridge? Actually, I wonder if I could mount tracks like yours to the slide out, to have even more clearance. Hmmmm....

Hello, I have a 4Runner 5th gen and the Dometic CFX75 Fridge also but from my measurements it wouldn't be able to fit in the back like yours does. The fridge slider measures 38" while I only measured 34.5" deep for my trunk space. Is it because your center seats stay folded down? Or is my slider's (Alu Cab XL) design too long?

Im glad I saw your video. I was in process of cutting plywood base with s track tie down rails. I was thinking it would prevent movement of gear and stuff from tipping. I wasnt thinking of anchoring the plywood to truck, rather just placing the wood on top of stock cargo liner. Glad I didnt start cutting $30 plywood because your system is superior. Now in reconsidering my original plan. I'm not thrilled with cutting plastic trim. Since I'm installing on-track, I probably just not reinstall that front plastic piece. Any reason its needed other than the 2 tie down points?

I am playing with the idea of doing this for a smaller fridge/freezer. I am guessing I can watch the video about another dozen times taking notes and I should be able to pull this off. My question is, if I put 1/8 thick spacers under the slide could I trim up that piece of carpet and leave the exposed floor carpeted or for that matter, could I just put the carpet back in place entirely before putting on the slide?

Love you guys. Learning a lot that I will be using in my own build. Just one question. You used 1/2" plywood. Do you fee that 3/4" would be too thick, or what? Also, do you feel it is possible to just completely fill the cavity beneath the "base plate" say with solid foam or perhaps spray foam? Just filling the void.

I have the same slider and fridge. Did you encounter any issues with the release catch on the slider hitting the tail gate when it's closed. On my TRD Pro the wedge piece trim stops the fridge going back far enough into the cargo area. Great detailed video thanks for taking the time to share.

When idling, this squeak/humming noise that is pretty inconsistent is coming from the area that seems to be around the gas tank. You can hear it with the window down or outside. Do you have any idea what it is? Keep in mind that it may not be the tank area just that’s where it is loudest.

Ok, just wanna say Thanks a ton for this video. I watched it, like a million times, and used it to build my own platform. then i used the platform base as the base for my two drawer system with sleep platform on the 60% (passenger side) of my 4runner. Basically, I combined your video with the video from Solid Wood Worx found here kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aq5llsWLnZiWn6c.html to build my own 5th Gen 4runner sleep platform. Totally comparable to the Goose Gear system, which costs $2500. Cost me about a 5th of that (maybe less). Now i have a full 80" x 32" bed which i can remove and install the sleep extension using only 3 wing nuts. Keep in mind, my 60% side rear seat bottom is totally removed with this setup. I plan to build another sleep platform portion that keeps the seat bottom in place so it can be used in a 4 person trip and the sleep platform can be installed and removed when one passenger wants to sleep. Anyway, sorry for the long comment. Just wanted to say how much I appreciate what you guys do in your videos and how much I have learned from you guys. Keep up the good work.
