When I was a kid I would literally pregame at wanna do city. My dad would find a restaurant have a beer and I’d meet him at a certain time and then we’d walk to the stadium to see the panthers and afterwards go back to 🚾

I have such distinct memories of this as a child. Doing the firefighter job was so much fun... you started at the fire station where you would be trained by the adult firefighters then go down this spiral slide that was so fast that it would shoot you out of the bottom onto a mat. You would then go onto a firetruck and be driven to a different part of the city where you had to put out a simulated fire using real water hoses. I can't help but think that if they simply built this in Orlando instead it would have been even more popular and be around to this day.

All I gotta say is this was a stable in my childhood. While it was definitely a privilege, I have so many awesome memories. So unique, so detailed. There was nothing that compared. I hope this comes back

Awesome video! talk about bringing back memories! I always wondered the main reason Wannado City couldn't be financially stable. You said Monday-Thursday the place was probably non existent, since it's market is 100 percent for kids. And it's not like video games (Chucky cheese, Gameworks) where you enjoy going back to beat your high score and it's not as much of a headache for a parent. But the fact that it's educational and (I assume I'm speaking for most kids who attended Dade-county/Broward county schools) did not have ONE field trip here is blasphemy! That could've easily been a way to keep this place thriving. After just visiting Italy recently I was astounded to see all the kids on school field trips enjoying the Vatican and the Colosseum (both educational). So for them to think that us kids wouldn't have killed to go to wanna do city and learn about future jobs is a bummer to say the least. The place was always affordable from what my parents have told me who are middle-class. So really disappointing they didn't seize that opportunity. Would love to know anyone's viewpoints on this!

I remember going with Riverland Park elementary in broward county Florida the in 2000s. Now I’m 27 years old, at the time I was 8 or 9 years old when i went there in 2004-2005. I had fun inside the wonka chocolate factory making a random custom made candy bar then I was apart of a fashion show modeling. I had so much fun. This will always be in my memories until I’m gone.

I feel u bc I felt the same way asking my great gma about it only about 5 years after my one and only visit. She said, "Oh honey, they tore that down." I instantly said, "Oh, where was it rebuilt?" When she told me it wasn't rebuilt I lost it! I was so excited to become an adult and revist that place with my child. Such a sad closing. Maybe just maybe someone will create something similarly beneficial for children's growth and development and lots of innocent innovative fun! Wow I feel like I'm really selling this but it was truly that good!

I was devastated because I was about 11 when they opened, and never went. Moved out of state for 4 years and when I came back they were closing. They expanded the Forever 21 and opened several stores in its place. WannaDo City seemed to be fun and as I got older (by 2008-2010) of course I aged out of going but wanted to take my little cousins for a good time. Sawgrass has completely expanded since. There’s a hotel there, outdoor luxury stores and even a parking garage. I need them to put a Macy’s or any other major dept store in there. Sawgrass still gets insane traffic. A lot of tourists with suitcases 🤣

Idek why I just thought about wannado city. I’m 23 going to 24 and I had the theme song playing in my head while I was about to sleep. I legit couldn’t go back to sleep because I thought I might forget it. Was def curious on why they stopped it completely. I went about 1 time I can’t even remember it completely but it was really cool.
