All my respect to the Cuban people! Even though they live in poverty, all of them are wearing clean habits, resisting all of life's problems and living like human beings adapted to their life's conditions. They live in Havana between the ruins but respect themselves, wearing clean habits due to their high culture and education. They don't seem anxious, or very stressed, they are taking life, "day by day". This is impressive, for somebody living in the USA, or Canada-like me. I've seen teen tourists, arrogant, taking photos of an old man playing guitar-instead to give him something, for his art. These young don't think that they are arrogant with people, most educated than themeselves! Thank you for this vlog!

Poverty is a relative concept. You can earn more than $ 50k per year and still be very "poor" if you can't afford inflated rents, gas, food, taxes, college loans etc etc. You can be earning over $ 100,000k pa with a very good job and be unable to buy a roof over your head viz parts of silicon Valley etc where a broken down shack costs > $ 1 million. If people are well fed, housed, clothed and all have a roof over their heads how "poor" are they ? Oh yes, they have a FREE health service as well, these poor people.

I left Cuba in 1969 at the age of 14. I went in a cruise for a one day visit which was very costly because Cubans that left in the 60’s have to pay a premium for their visas. It was a very traumatic visit for me because I remember what it was like when I left. Everything is in such poor condition and decay. I’m glad you mentioned the issue with quality of care in the hospitals for the citizens of Cuba. Too bad they won’t let you film in the hospitals so the world can see the real health care for Cubans. Great video!

Hey Ronald, Thanks for hitting me up! I'm absolutely stoked to hear that you and your son are digging Wanna Walk channel. It's awesome to hear from fellow car enthusiasts who share the passion for vintage rides and cities b-side! I totally get where you're coming from with your concern for the safety of those cool retro cars cruising around the city, I love them too! It's a bummer that some of the buildings in Cuba have seen better days, I recommend you to find some Havana video from 1950, you'll love to see what Cuba used to looks like. I'm glad you can appreciate the beauty and awesomeness of the Cuban people, it's a city that I recommend to visit since it's pretty unique and safe. To answer your question, so far I know they don't have car shows but it's an amazing idea to attract more tourists! I'm also stoked that you're feeling the music and the dancing too! Cuba is the best place for that.. Thanks so much for your support, Ronald. We're hyped to keep bringing you travel content that you and your son will love!! I am Cuban, now living in the US, and it is incredible the comments you see from some foreigners here about Cuba, like if that was something extraordinary... People get so used to cleanliness in the first world, that suddenly a place like this becomes "exotic". I can tell you that I don't miss ANY of my former life. It is a shitty, miserable existence, if you ask me. I am so glad that now I live in the USA!!

So true what you are saying. For some reason that I cannot understand there are people in the west who have this sordid fascination for all these repressive regimes. I think that they should go and live there for 1 or 2 years with a Cuban salary to understand how difficult life there really is. I am glad that you were able to get out of there but I feel sorry for those who have to live in that dystopia.

Incredibly amazing tour. The narration helps concentrate on the very busy visuals. For a robo-voice it is fairly good. However try to reduce the back ground sound level a bit so the narration is dominating. Sometimes it is drowned out by the background sound. Overall an enthralling look at a country put under the pincers of political, financial and social tyranny - yet the people survive and look happy with the bad cards they have been dealt.

Hello. Thanks. This compilation it’s an experiment. I made it because a lot of you guys wanted a voice narrated video. Cuba is usually noisy so it’s hard to reduce ambience sounds more but I’ll find a solution. I love interacting with locals but most were shy or afraid to talk 🙂

@@WannaWalk If you are using an editing program it should be easy to adjust sound levels between the original captured sound (from camera) and the added narration track, or anything else you might add such as music. Not sure how you produce your videos so hopefully this tip helps. I use Vegas Movie Studio 17 Platinum, and it is very easy to make many adjustments with a program like this. Beforehand, I would like to mention that I'm an 88-year-old Cuban-American veteran. My family was among the first settlers in Cuba, arriving in the mid-16th century at Puerto Principe (now Camagüey.) I understand your perspective on the awful conditions you encountered in my dear Havana, but we cannot ignore the fact that the reasons behind these conditions were not explained…the (U.S. Embargo.) I don't blame you for your lack of knowledge; most of the world is also unaware of the causes. I kindly request your help to review this well-researched documentation. It will assist you in forming your opinion about the Cuban embargo that has impacted MOSTLY CUBAN FAMILIES for 63 years. Before continuing, I'm an 88-year-old Cuban-American U.S. veteran. My family was among the first settlers in Cuba, arriving in the mid-16th century at Puerto Principe (now Camagüey.) I, along with a large percentage of Cuban Americans, am deeply concerned about the dire situation in which the Cuban population (not their government) has been forced to live for over half a century. Despite our financial struggles, we feel compelled to help our suffering families by sending them money, food, and even children's school and everyday household items. It is truly a nightmare beyond imagination. It hurts to see some pro-embargo Cuban-American exiles whose votes are crucial in the State of Florida and who have influenced certain politicians interested in obtaining said vote to adopt views similar to theirs. It is obvious who influenced ex-president Trump to re-designate Cuba as a state sponsor of terrorism, hitting the country with new sanctions… the manipulative, unscrupulous politicians flirting for votes with the large Cuban-American+Venezuelan communities for Florida's sizable number of delegates. This presentation sheds light on the brutal embargo that has been imposed on Cuban families. It is intended for people who may not be aware of the truth or who have been intentionally misled by corrupt politicians and misled individuals who are in favor of the embargo. During his presidential campaign, former Vice President Joe Biden declared that if he won the White House race in November, he would return to Obama-era policies of engagement with Cuba and reverse the Trump administration's sanctions. Many of us trusted him, but as of today, he hasn't done it; he has disappointed many of his constituency. We believe he is now concerned about losing Florida's sizable number of delegates due to the large number of Cuban-Americans, influenced in keeping the embargo by certain politicians interested in obtaining the said vote. It is incomprehensible how anyone can allow other human beings to suffer and continue promoting hunger, lack of medicine, and abominable poverty. That is precisely what is happening NOW in Cuba. If you knew what happened during our last war of independence from 1895 to 1898 against Spain when Spanish General Valeriano Weyler introduced forced concentration camps, an estimated 155,000 to 170,000 civilians died due to inhumane conditions; in that case, you would understand. How could a similar situation develop, or is ALREADY developing, in Cuba? How is it possible that such an aberration can still exist in current societies? It is shocking to see how THE AGGRESSOR (U.S. Embargo) manipulated the media and, helped by corrupt politicians, vested interested Cuban-Americas entrenched in Miami, and the ever-present useful fulls managed to convince the ATTACKED (The Cuban Families), uninformed and unsuspecting, that they and their government are responsible for ALL their evils and vicissitudes. Let's now re-examine the situation that exists in Cuba regarding the massive violation of its human rights imposed by the U.S. The Cold War ended a long time ago, and the current innocent Cuban population, most of whom were born after the revolution, continues to be punished. The younger generation leaves the country by any means, and many die or are robbed by "coyotes" on their way to this or other countries. This situation has generated major problems for the United States Immigration Services that could be improved by REVOKING said embargo. Last year's resolution condemning the embargo on Cuba passed 185-2, marking the 30th time the U.N. has rebuked the decades-old U.S. policy. I am aware that many blame the Cuban government for ALL the problems in the country. Although it is partly true, they forget something crucial (Quote, Wikipedia). Although the U.S. measures against Cuba do not amount to a blockade in a technical or formal sense, their cumulative effect is to put an economic "stranglehold" on the island, which not only prevents the United States intercourse but also effectively blocks commerce with other states, their citizens and companies, also disallowing foreign subsidiaries of U.S. companies to trade with Cuba, moreover, US-based companies, and companies that do business with the U.S., which trade in Cuba do so at the risk of U.S. sanctions. (End of Quote.) While the pretext for U.S. actions against Cuba has changed over six decades, the objectives have NOT. THE OBJECTIVE was made evident in an April 1960 memorandum nsarchive.gwu.edu/document/27400-document-1-state-department-memorandum-decline-and-fall-castro-secret-april-6-1960 written by Lester D. Mallory, US Undersecretary of State, who recommended measures "to weaken the economic life of Cuba. . . CAUSE HUNGER, DESPERATION AND OVERTHROW OF THE GOVERNMENT." The embargo has gone much further and has caused a brain drain, with the best and brightest professionals leaving the country, exacerbating the nation's already precarious medical, educational, and industrial situation. There are those who have not investigated the situation thoroughly, have fallen prey to the lies spread by manipulators, or may even be one of the individuals who manipulated the recent Cuban protests. These protests were funded by certain U.S. agencies and misinformed Cuban Americans with a vested interest in the matter. Below, please see responsible and revealing videos concerning the embargo and manipulated protests: About the video "Cuba: The U.S. embargo after sixty years" - (The interview was conducted in English)…. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/o8uPhtp2p9vaj3U.html I'm just quoting a summary of the foreword by Gail Reed, executive editor of Medicc Review: "Well, let me tell you that we have seen a large number of statements from various people in the State Department and the White House, etc., saying that the United States policy towards Cuba is based on human rights. The extraordinary hypocrisy of that statement boggles the mind. What we are seeing in the case of Cuba is a massive violation of the human rights, the right to life, and the right to health of 11 million people. Let's find a way to make more people and influencers in the United States care about lifting this embargo and taking the boot off the necks of the Cuban people." Also, please watch former CIA senior analyst Fulton Armstrong admitting in (Deutsche Welle*) #LaEntrevistaDW the influence of the United States on the current protests. Furthermore, he recognizes that "the factor that most impacts" the Cuban crisis "is the North American EMBARGO." - (The interview was conducted in Spanish)…. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/h5tzjK1jvtazpKM.html (*Deutsche Welle) is a state-owned German public international broadcaster funded by the German federal fiscal budget. --- For those of you who would like to further investigate Cuba's situation regarding what many world-leading intellectuals have denounced as the massive violation of its human rights, please read/focus on the following documentation and arrive at your own conclusion. *Noam Chomsky on the Cuban embargo: www.democracynow.org/2015/3/3/chomsky_on_cuba_after_decades_of Noam Chomsky is one of the most influential intellectuals in the world. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noam_Chomsky *How Cuban Socialism Survives Against the Empire Next Door, w/ Prof. Helen Yaffe, a lecturer in economic and social history at the University of Glasgow kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hLajfMabz9vTqIU.html If, after conducting your own research, you reach the conclusion that the 23-year-long embargo imposed on Cuba should be lifted or, at the very least, that the Obama-era policies of engagement should be reinstated, please inform your government officials about this significant violation of human rights. As someone who values human life and individual freedom, I respect all opinions and expect the same in return. Thank You!
