ROLEX OYSTER PERPETUAL REF. 1005
Manufactured in 1960, this reference 1005 was intended to be truly fine watch, and it succeeded. It's minilimaist, but its elements are of the greatest quality. A rich unobstructed sunburst dial, 34mm of a solid yellow gold Rolex water resistant staple and a chronometer rated automatic movement.
This Oyster Perpetual is a wonderful example of a 20th century solid gold Rolex, a must have in a collection, and it's just so much more approachable than its more complicated brothers.
ROLEX DAY-DATE REF. 1803
The reference 1803, the captain of industry. It's the watch that really solidified the importance of the gold Rolex in the world. This wonderful example was manufactured in 1973 and, from case to dial, it's rich. The 18k yellow gold oyster measures 36 millimeters, giving it substantial presence on the wrist and its champagne dial is finished in a decadent linen pattern. Oh, and it features both the date and day in full text to top it off.
There's no doubt, this is a very serious vintage Rolex.

I stupidly sold my old 14k gold Rolex when I was feeling down . It was beautiful . Today I found a Chatham Hamilton military watch with 24 hour dial and red sweep second hand from 1939 .It was introduced at the 1939 World's Fair . Can't believe I bought it for $10.00 . Vintage is where it's at and you have great watches .

Beautiful Day-Date...so choice...linen dial gives it such a versatile look. Now F$%K You! That's my name! Why? Because you drove a Hyundai to get here and I drove an $80,000 BMW. (best line...such a great movie...)

Oh boy, this is so ostentatious and I love it. One of my grails to get, I would wear it everyday if we lived in a world where you wouldn't get mugged for a Rolex.
