Good for day trips from Bangkok, the Thaka Floating Market is in Samut Songkhram Province. Not far from Amphawa and Damnoen Saduak markets. It is a floating market where the local lifestyle is still well-conserved. The locals do farming and agricultural work for a living and bring their vegetables and fruits such as chilis, onions, coconut sugars, guavas, coconuts, rose apples, and pomelo to exchange and sell at the floating market in their boats.

This has always been my go to floating market Martin whenever in the area. The smells of the deliciously cooked dishes sucker me every time. Just watching them makes me hungry. Thanks for sharing mate. Bushyboy Oz.

@@bangkokandmore Yes, very, very traditional people's homes was built high because of the monsoon season and people was selling foods on boats...a way of making a living. Boats was much an essential part of life back then for fish farmers and ways of transportation during monsoon season.

It is lovely to see there is still the traditional village life of Thailand without the tourist spin, but it is also sad when you look across and see nothing happening on the other bank and wonder how dependent on the Tourist dollar places like the major tourist traps Bangkok Chang mai Pattaya , Phuket and Samui and other tourist areas have become, and how those people are surviving.

You can go by minibus to Samut Songkhram, very easy. From there it is only 15 minutes with another one...😊🙏❤️🇹🇭
