One of my friends went straight to a two year private school and recieved her RN license. There is always that route too…. Saves actually a lot of money if the hospital allows just an RN license instead of BSN. She was able to pay it off in half a year working as an RN in an ICU unit😊 It’s crazy I majored in nutritional Science, spent 10 years in school, 1 more year in a internship Program and still trying to pass my dietitian test…. And now they’re making it so dietitians have to have master degrees. School sucks lol but it’s crazy how everyone’s journey is so different!

I’ve always wanted to be a nurse since I was 10. I’m 25 now and I’m going into a CNA program soon. Then after a few years I’m gonna go to a local college to study nursing to be a labor and delivery nurse

I want to be labor nurse. After I have my baby. I want to apply for school. I took Hha and cna classes I know it's not the same thing. My teachers (nurses) always told me I should go into nursing because they see my potential and they see I really love doing it. That's one of my dreams. I'ma go for it

I went to nursing school because I knew I wanted to be a labor nurse. Got my BSN at the University of Arizona. Started my dream job at a Tucson hospital that had a high number of monthly deliveries and lots of high risk prenancies in January of 1982. Retired after 38 years, all in L& D.

This helps! Thank you. I'm an EMT. I've been in EMT for almost 3 years now. I'm interested in going into pediatrics or labor and delivery. I worked with children and families for 13 years before I switch careers. I'm a little late to the game I'm 47. I want to get my advanced EMT and try to get in 911 for a little bit and then go into nursing school. Luckily since I already have my bachelor I guess I can do in the accelerated nursing program. So I'm really hoping I could be able to do it I never had the confidence that I could be a nurse even though I wanted to when I was younger. I was always intimidated by the coursework. I didn't think I had the ability to become an EMT but I did. I did an 11th week program for EMT School is one of the hardest things I've done. Even a little bit harder than getting my bachelors. I definitely look forward to hearing from more tips.

Hey Anna, I am doing the RCNP internship you did right now and had to pay $1800 ;) I live in Sac and have to drive to Oroville for my OB rotation because the hospitals near me were not accepting any students. Any tips on how to look like a stronger candidate as a new grad? I also just started being a volunteer doula at a hospital I want to work at and have my introduction to fetal monitoring certificate (should I get an intermediate one?)! Also, did you have preceptorships during nursing school like during your last semester and did you get an OB placement for that? Sorry, that was a lot of questions, thank you!

Can you work labor and delivery as an LPN?

I am doing my preceptorship in a PP unit next semester! Hopefully, I can land a job in L&D/PP when I am done with nursing school. I go to a BSN program in the Bay area. I heard it is impossible to get a job here as a new grad, especially in the mom-baby unit. 🥲🥲
