Great question! How do you overcome the mental challenges like starting on the outside lane, jumping (or not) on the first straight with a full moto, and getting tangled up with other riders into the first corner?

I used a 45/16 and 180mm cranks. It felt like a torque monster. Couldn't stand to go back to 175mm stock 1-piece cranks on friends bikes. Was the fastest of any of my friends, always beat one of them with a 12 speed as he tried to run the gears.

I have a Cruiser after starting at 48y with 39x17 but feel I need to go bit lighter for a better gate start. Would I go 38x17 or 40x18 better? Not easy to understand the difference since both result in reduced roll length.

You know, I don’t have it on the top of my head. I think if I were to guess “you have to be at least an expert and 18 years of age.” But if someone knows, help us! Or go to usabmx.com

May I know what is the different between big chainring with big cog vs small chainring with small cog. Example: 44t:16= 2.75 & 25t : 9= 2.77 . Is it big chainring/cog can last longer and small chainring/cog give more space to perform stunt?

44, 16. Is exact same ratio as 33, 12. Except pedal pressure rotation changes because smaller gearing. You'll feel that in your legs. But ppl say 25, 9. Is the closest to 44, 16. Between chian tightness and heavy pedaling in your legs. Please explain...... 25 , 9...you don't have high end speed, it's short burst speed which involves more pedaling to ride further. I'm thinking 33, 12. Must be really hard to pedal. To get the same rolling distance as 44, 16. If you look up gear ratio. 44,16. Has exact same ratio as 33, 12 gearing. Chain tightness comes into play as well has rotation harder pedaling in legs

You lost me after the first sentence. Did you actually use any of these gearing combinations? This sounds to me like overthinking.
