Slopers were eye openers to me when I started out. I tended to avoid them because they felt impossibly difficult. Exactly at that time my gym had this theme going on where they set lots of low starts. When I realized that sitting down made it 100x easier that was a real heureka! moment for me. I suddenly realized that slopers could be a strength for me. Now this video really doubles down on that! Sloper climbs are sometimes way undercooked for the grade because lots of people struggle with the technique. I also like a good sloper climb because it is a lot about listening to your body, paying attention to the different forces, and feeling the hold. In essence, I cannot just pull harder to perform the move.

Completely agree! Great job from your gym for setting sit starts, not enough of that indoors! And…great job to you for realizing that and learning on your own! Thanks for sharing and for watching! 🙏

Haha, gulp! Yes, we know ads aren't that fun, but we do strongly believe coros can make training easier for many. That said, perhaps we put it at the end! lol. Thanks for watching! I've not been called the bad cop in this relationship before haha

Helpful illustrations and strategies regarding the importance of body position and leverage! Also, 14:20 illustrates how difficult the spinning bar "hang for 100s challenges" are (halving the weight etc)...you get a two-for-one by training that: 1) you can climb better on slopers and 2) win money at the carnival!!

Too true. We were going to add hanging from bars etc (which is important for shoulders), but tie got the better of us. Very true though!!

Ah, I meant the exercise you showed would be good training for hanging on the spinning bar at the carnival! What is the device Robin is using? Looks similar to Rolling Thunder, or perhaps the Lattice Heavy Roller.@@roapcoaching917

For sure the latter is more important, but the former provides stability and balance with the extensors playing the major role.

I (Alex) lived in Dallas from 8-17years old and my family are based here. We are visiting as my mum unfortunately had a bad car accident (she got hit by a drugged driver and then another car), so we are here looking after her and helping her return to normal. We'll be here for a couple of more weeks. Come say hi if you see us. Thanks for watching and your support!
