The pirate shot first, Shubble was only defending herself. The sheriff admitted he had no warrant yet entered the house anyway. Shubble was within her rights to, again, defend herself. Shubble did nothing wrong.

Just a thought, you remember how Shelby used to live towards the edge of the Evermoore until it expanded out past the docks? What if instead of a malevolent force trying to swallow up her home... the Evermoor is trying to hide and protect her?

the would kinda make sense since the Evermoore fog is said to come from the middle of the Evermoore, and that is The past Knomeland (don't know if I spelt the right-) which was Shrubs home BEFORE the Undergrove, So I think that the fog and the Lost souls of the Evermoore think of Witch Shelby as Shrub and are trying to protect her

Yeah, i bet the spirits know shelby used to be shrub, so they are protecing her, but of course the fog probably is hostile unlike the spirits, which is why she is now been infected by the sculk

POV: The Evermoor started to control Shelby when she noticed her distress and fear, thinking the Evermoor could turn it in to anger and strength they started to control her. She got angry and killed empires members out of a mix of anger and fear, and she will slowly turn evil from the Evermoor…

I love this so much! The unfair pressures against her from all around, her paranoid reaction starting natural at first, it seems like she's just finally standing up to Pirate Joe, people reaching out to her but keeping their distance then she gradually starts going too far, hints of starting a villain arc and then final shot of the episode: the sculk corruption lives on!!!! This is so exciting!!

I really did have flashbacks from season 1. I was honestly excited for cub's little corruption arc, but I'm worried for Shelby. She has been dealing with a lot of stressful events lately, and I believe the corruption will take advantage of it. The story was just about to slow down for everyone, but now that Shelby feels more alone then ever, things are about to get lorey.

Okay, the end of this episode in particular had the gears in my brain go brrrr- so enjoy some theory-dumping. My theory is that remnants of pure sculk might be mixing with some of the Evermores magic, causing Shelby to loose some of her self-control to fear and paranoia, which is possibly most noticeable while she's actually in her swamp. The fight and killing of Joey could simply be a heat of the moment kind of thing, but when Jimmy visited it seemed like she wasn't quite able to slow down and consider that simply talking might just defuse the situation. He was (in her eyes) a clear threat and the only way out of the situation was to fight. The only reason Ollie might've been able to leave unharmed is that he came through as more friendly, if even a little scared/concerned, and so didn't convince Shelby (or whatever's slowly possessing her) that he was a threat. In the future the magic sculk might continue to convince her that more and more things are out to get her, no matter their intentions, and that the only reasonable response is to fight for herself and the Evermore- her swamp, her safespace, her guardian, her home.

Everything in Empires happens for a reason, lore-wise. (Proven by season one Scott building his portal to look like it has a little bit of corruption, and the season ending with Xornoth’s shenanigans). My theory: Shelby’s gonna have more issues with her magic. She’s gonna hurt people, and we can see she’s beginning to get corrupted similarly to Cub during the crossover. She’s going to need help controlling her magic. So who do we know that can see magical auras?

Great examples of trying to cover up one crime leads to multiple murders and in the end, you turned into another witch that people have bad experiences with despite your intentions. There is a lot of fulfilling narratives here you can tell you put a lot of work into it.
