This isn't nature being cruel, this is a person who went and taped a goat's ears to its eyes and started filming it just to be sadistic. I know feeding your pet is important, HOWEVER, not only was this an abnormal way to feed a pet, but who in the right mind would want to keep a literal Komodo Dragon as a pet? They're not even affectionate animals. Now if you excuse me, I'll be reporting this video for animal abuse.

@@Paolo8772 yeah there's like 3 different versions of this video one they cut off the sound in the beginning but turn it back on after swallowed and your right you can here it for quite a good while after can you imagine being alive and having to suffocate the heat and smell while stomach acid is eating through your skin

It's unusual for an animal to live vivaciously enough for any period of time after being eaten by anything by another land animal to be able to still hear it crying inside of it, but I'm sure it died before stomach acid did anything to it.

Humans should never offer live animals? You are on meth. Animals, like this komodo, hunt other animals not just for food and nutrition. Some of these komodos, who eat these goats, do it for sport too. There is also no indication that the goat was fed to the komodo. Even if it was, who knows and who cares if the animals are pets. Although I suspect there is some legality on owning a komodo dragon as a pet. Regardless, Live feeding prey to a predator is part of the eco system. I seen more mice getting devoured by frogs that are seriously more graphic then this but people like you don't bat an eye. Humans have pet, pets need to be fed with live game to mentally survive, ever hear of hunting, look at dogs and cats who chase and eats mice. Komodo dragons and goats fall under the same category. If you think it's morally wrong human feeding animals to other animals is cruel, why did you even bother watching the video in question? The whole Predator and Prey is part of the eco system and it's something parasites like you need to get past.

Although it's an awesome feeding, it seems the goat's ears were somehow attached close to it's eyes to impede it's vision. Komodos do not hunt this way unless they've bitten the prey and tracked it down or it's been otherwise injured. Komodos are ambush hunters and can stand still as statues for extended lengths of time blending in with the ground, dirt, rocks, and dry shrubbery, snagging any unfortunate meal venturing by. None of these miscreants are willing to follow a komodo all day long to catch it feeding so why not grab some animal, incapacitate it a bit and give it to the komodo for a few clicks..

Guaranteed the goat would still be screaming until it died from no oxygen, so probably another 4 or so minutes it screamed after the end of the video as the oxygen ran out and the incredibly strong stomach acid started to dissolve it.

it's a pet komodo. they buy the kid and put it in the enclosure and start filming. kinda messed up since they can easily feed their pet komodo meat instead of live prey.

It's just a staged feeding. You can see the enclosure walls, the cameraman was laughing and talking to it, the goat ears seemed glued or God knows what to cover it's eyes and confused when the komodo attacks it. Almost everything about this video is instigated by the makers of the video... The only "wild and real" part is the KD being the killing machine that it is.

This looks like a “pet” Komodo. You see how close camera got and Komodo just watched..no way this is a free roaming Komodo, looks like this guy was just feeding him. Not any different than a pet python being fed live rabbits. Captive animals need to eat.

I don't think so, other than they are captive on the island. They cohabitate with the native people and their animals, some of which free range. Loss to Komodo's is the cost of doing business, so to speak, of raising animals on the island, since they can't build enough fences. I'm guessing proceeds from these videos is part of their revenue, along with tourism.
