THE temple town Nayakanahatti in Molakalmuru taluk in Chitradurga district witnessed high drama after Ballari MP and BJP candidate for Molakalmuru Assembly constituency B Sriramulu arrived on Friday morning to take part in an election campaign.
Supporters of sitting MLA S Thippeswamy allegedly pelted stones and hurled slippers at Sriramulu forcing the MP to flee the spot. He escaped unhurt, but his vehicles were damaged in the incident.
The MLA’s supporters were irked over the BJP’s decision to issue the party ticket to Sriramulu instead of the incumbent in the assembly constituency.
