I met Sir Don McCullin in the late 80’s. He is such a nice man. He spoke of his family with such love and affection. That’s all I needed to know to make him great in my eyes.

I'm a Marine who served in war. (I also did a stint in photojournalism as a civilian afterward.) Still I reel when I see/hear what McCullin has been through.

In his documentary "McCullin", the part where he was in Africa and you see those kids starving and too weak to climb 1 step, had me in tears.

He detests being called a war photographer so that’s what you place in the headline 😱

@@mr.sudbury3856 I know this comment is a year old but... it is truly awful that even after the interview they called him what he doesn't like. It's disrespectful to know that he has done so much just to have an interview where the title is wrong for him. Imagine going through all those wars and taking photos for the public just to be disrespected years later where you could've faced so many PTSD moments.

Nonsense !, the truth about war and suffering needs to be know. Sir Don has always shown great empathy towards his subject's, maybe you would benefit from a little research on the subject.

You clearly didn't listen to a word he said. If he was "cold" then he wouldn't have suffered waking nightmares all his adult life.
