One of the most blatant anti-war protest songs you'll ever hear is "War Pigs" by Black Sabbath, and one of the saddest parts about it is that it still rings just as true today as it did back in the day. Rick Strom breaks it down. Give us your thoughts in the comments below!

I refused to participate in that war and came to Canada in 1965 and I’m still here. I’ve never had any disrespect for the youth caught up in it.

I am not trying to be that guy, but I knew what those songs were about when I listened to them on vinyl with headphones from my pastor father’s record collection. They were NOT satanic!!! The people sending kids off to war wanted everyone to believe Black Sabbath was the antagonist, not the reality that THE RICH are satan. “Crazy! And that’s how it goes. Millions of people, living as foes. Maybe, it’s not too late. Learn how to love and forget how to hate.” That is the first line of “Crazy Train”. I may only be a preachers kid, but that sounds awfully “Christ like” in its syntax. I will never say Ozzy is Christ like, but his message is Christ like. Those guys spoke truth when truth was still being suppressed. Ozzy, Dio , it doesn’t matter. Their songs were about empathy. Songs about the poor dying in the name of Rich interests. It will be a terribly sad day when Black Sabbath is gone. Hail the Sabbath!!! (SMH)

You do know that there's actually two different versions of war pigs, right? There's the one we all know and the one with the original lyrics, which were actually about the final thoughts of a victim of a witchhunt as she was being burnt at the stake. Ozzy Osbourne has said many times that he vastly prefers the original version lyrics (as did the rest of the band) but they were forced to change them by their record label at the eleventh hour just a couple weeks before the scheduled release of the album. The original version was officially released on his 1997 greatest hits package The Ozzman Cometh.

@@tytsports Thanks Rick ,I love how Marley took the speech made by Haile Selassie at the U.N in NYC in October 1963 and juxtaposed it with some killer one drop Reggae . Singing the lyrics to an angry group of about to be assailants actually saved me a beating on the subway many years ago , you can't fight city hall when it follows your logic . Great show ,love the content , watching from Ireland

I always think of One by Metallica. Show the results of the horrors of war and the callousness of a government that doesn’t care for the soldiers that are the casualties of those wars. With politicians and military contractors growing rich and fat off war, of all things I’m reminded of Metal Gear Solid IV and their discussion of the war economy. How war is so profitable that politicians keep pointless wars going for the sake of money.

Linkin Park had some political songs such as Until It Breaks, Hands Held High, Rebellion, The Catalyst, and No More Sorrow. The Trump Campaign tried using Linkin Park's song In The End to promote his campaign. Linkin Park responded with a copyright violation and tweeting out, "Linkin Park did not and does not endorse Trump, nor authorize his organization to use any of our music. A cease and desist has been issued." This doesn't mean the band endorses the opposing side of Joe Biden but it could mean they don't want their non-political music to be made political. Although they do have political songs directed towards what many believe to be the Bush administration. They might want to leave their more emotional songs emotional rather than a political siren to call to potentially violent masses. Just my opinion. This happened before the 2020 election around the time when Trump was fearing he was going to lose claiming the election was going to be rigged in the coming months. Which quietly makes the lyrics of Linkin Park's In The End political. The Lyrics being, "In the end it doesn't even matter." This band wasn't a very political band unless the movement meant a lot to the members.
