If they put a historical oriented debuff on the Germans, why doesn't the shark fin on the IS3 burst open every 2 minutes like it did in real life.

Because it didn't? The problems were mostly with floor/engine compartment plates

Super Étendard The front armour on IS3s wasn't welded correctly, they were never used in a combat roll because stress on the frontal shark nose would literally split apart here is a quote from ZALOGA IS-2 HEAVY TANK 1944-73 P19 (A russian tank debrief):hull weldline that had a tendency to crack open.

Yeah I read that book, but after discussing the topic at the forums, and some people presenting Soviet sources about it... looks like it was more myth than anything (like German bad steel at the end of WW2). I don't mean that there weren't any problems, but the front of the tank getting opened by hitting it with a hammer wasn't it :P

Every tank had design flaws, but yeah of course only the german maus and Tiger II H gets a armour nerf............. (yes tiger II H front turret is actually around 170MM) Like other tanks didn't have massive armour flaws, looking at you T34 with your armour breaking of after a single hit. (i know some german tanks had that to, but you get my point)

PIRATE99A If they'd make the realism mode realistic, the russian Tanks till Tier V (badum ts) would suck a fat one (throw the russian bias away), the German Tanks would outgun every other Tank by their Caliber, Power and Armor but wouldnt be the greatest in terms of mobility, the American Tanks would be the fastest in the Game and the British Tanks would be all out medium in terms of Speed, Armor, penetration Power and mobility

Yes 97 modifier because t-34s were made of a better quality metal. Hint = they weren't. Why Russians don't get 95 modifier?

Soviet plates were very hard specially on T-34s so they need brittle modifier as well.

Im pretty sure early soviet vehicles was bad like every country s first vehicles, then they would gradually either improve upon it or replace it. Germany unfortunately due to the desperate need to regain the initiative during the war, ended up making lower quality steel in an attempt to build enough tanks

The Maus was made at a time when German steel quality was so low that Panthers were being taken out frontally by standard Shermans firing HE.

If you are looking right at the vehicle firing it when it fires, the missile would just fly right towards you and not shift back or fourth on your screen. If the missile could be hit by machine gun fire I don't think it would be too hard to shoot down.

If anything the e100 and maus should get a 1.05 armor modifier because they were actually made with Germany’s best armor steel, the same as used on the Bismarck

They should’ve given it the turret thats in WOT, cause historically thats the turret it would’ve been equipped with. The maus turret would been too heavy for the E-100 hull

You forgot that the turret front is made of "cast" armor, which means that effectiveness is further reduced, meaning that the thickness is at only around 200mm rather than 236mm like it should be.

The designation E-100 signifies how many enemies (or Alliedaboos) it takes to defeat this particular Panzer.

Also usually gather a squadmate or 2 for this bunker same applies for is7, maus, any other giant T-35 too, one for AA support and the other for small cannon support (panther. Or tiger)

I know people keep getting upset about the maus having bad front turret armor how ever what about the p-51D-5 and 30 because i compared their statistics to the ones of real life and they are no where near performing how they did in real life. It's clear that gaijin does not care about balancing and just does what they want. 2000 hours of playing as shown me that.

come to think of it, seeing as the german steel has a modifier on it's thickness characteristics wouldnt it also be possible for gaijin to implement a crude version of what armoured warfare has for composite armour? and that'd open the door for much more modern tanks/stuff with different means of defeating heat rounds than spaced armour?

The 75mm is the only good thing about the turret and bc in the other turret you get the 15 cm gun with slightly less pen and more dmg

Can anyone explain to me the modifier that is applied to the armor? Is it the standard CHA modifier, applying only to the turret front or is there another modifier, that makes the armor all around less effective than the given RHA value?

+Peacock not if you combine the turret and hull traverse. Mainly because the Maus can neutral steer.

They can both netural steer and funnily enough the E-100 does it at about double the speed of the Maus.

Peacock In testing I didn't find that to be the case personally. But it was on soft ground so that may only be the case on medium or firm ground.
