You must, with a good setup there’s no going back to a flat screen :) What you lose in resolution is more than up for by immersion and being able to look around freely in any direction when in a fight to keep an eye on your opponents position.

@@dusanylmaz6486 yes to a point but never never as good as a flat screen. I use both, flat screen for tanks and VR for planes. When I go back to VR after playing on a screen for a while you really notice the difference. In VR the image rendered is a lot bigger than the area you see, that’s why you can never match the res of a monitor, the VR image would be way too big to process. Hopefully technology will improve and also headsets so it doesn’t feel like scuba diving.

This is recorded from the vr mirror using GeForce experience, it’s the same res as I see in the headset but I’d say in my headset it’s sharper and clearer than on the screen.

@@PlutoPlays1 I run openxr for windows and whack the res up to 140%. With nearly all the graphics settings in te game on high I can still get 60fps. I’m using a 3090ti though, very powerful gpu. Good vr graphics don’t come cheap. Whether or not you can use openxr depends on your headset. When I was using an RTX 3070 I was able to get it up to 150% but had to turn down the graphics in the game. I use 400m as i shoot from far away quite a lot. Stealth 20mm and universal .303. I don’t use vertical as all the guns are on the same firing plane. If you have guns up on the nose and the wings then you need vertical convergence to focus them all on one spot Good luck with the carrier. It’s not very clear how to maximise damage with normal bombs. I’ve seen me drop 9000kg from a Halifax and sink it and other days I can drop 3 loads on the deck one after another and it’s still afloat. I can sink it with one Japanese torpedo but the British ones seem to fail everytime, even when firing 2 from a Wellington. Must be a spot on the deck that’s more vulnerable I think.

I do play IL2 as well, i buy all the ads-ons in the sales to keep the cost down, but it’s no different than having to fork out for premium time and GE in WT to earn enough SL to progress. Flying a 20,000SL repair cost non-premium plane you will most likely lose SL at the end of a sim game. That forces you to use premium planes or buy premium time. They know what they’re doing. With iL2 at least when you buy a plane that’s it, no more cost.

Yes it’s new, tells you other things like plane destroyed and the useful actions earned. You can turn it off but I find it useful and saves ammo.

You’ve only watched one video then, out of several hundred? Nothing is realistic in a simulator….because it isn’t real. The only realistic experience you could of had was to actually fly in WW2. A realistic situation is flying for several hours on high altitude patrol, and fly home having seen no other planes or fire a shot. That’s boring, and that’s why most games are what they are, instant action. In War Thunder for example you can fly planes against each other that never even existed at the same time in reality, total nonsense. Did zeros ever fly over England? Check out some of my IL2 Sturmovik videos, there’s plenty of realistic sorties among them as it only uses planes that actually fought against each other. I just made a joke, I play WarThunder too and I always play in simulation, and various absurdities always happen, such as players from the United States entering battles flying A6M zeros, Ki61, FW190... I want to congratulate the creator from the channel for making this cool content available to everyone, sorry for the joke. But the games are exactly what you said, there is no way to replicate reality 100% it would be boring
