Would be cool. A few days ago, my 12-y.-o. self decided to buy a Nerf rifle. I used self-checkout, and the guy making sure everything is going okay is like 60 years old. I leave and pick up my receipt, he says "Nice to see you kids actually play outside!" Never have I felt so weird in my life. It was at a fucking hardware store.

And guess what...we kids(yes...boys AND girls) were actually OUTSIDE...'playing army'. Running around all day in the woods(most of them are gone now),or somebody's back yard... NOT sitting around on our duffs, glued to video game screens. None of us seem any the worse for wear, either...it was pretty good exercise, after all.

To whomever finds this content to be offensive. This was my childhood. We played war games in orchards/groves and used the fallen fruit as hand grenades. When we were 12 we got real guns and the training to properly use and care for them. In high school there were rifles/shotguns on racks in my back window parked right there in the school’s parking lot. I was an expert shot in the Military and that ability served me and mine well. I raised and trained my children to be responsible gun owners. As a Marine my Son was awarded the highest shooting medal by the country of Germany. My Daughter shot expert on the 50 caliber. My Grandchildren are continuing in my footsteps. Now if my life offends you don’t be scared. Me and others like me will proudly defend your Rights. Just don’t be such a Pantywaste and try to impose your prejudices on me.

Grocery stores were cool back in the day. I knew once my Dad put up that shiny metal tree in the living room with the colored light that turned and changed colors and almost always zapped the crap outta me that the coolest toys in commercials on TV would soon be on the top shelves. I couldn't wait to go to Piggly Wiggly or Quick✅Check, which later became Win Dixie to see all the stuff I'd seen on TV. Grocery day during the holiday was always looked forward to. I know I was a real pain in the ass and my Dad was ready to tear it up by the time we got outta the place. Those were the best of times. I had those navy frogman toys and G.I. Joe. My brother had a plastic cannon that shot orange projectiles but we modified it by taking the wheels off and using the base and barrel to launch bottle rockets. Needless to say, they were pretty dangerous. Also had a creepy crawlers kit and a bunch of plastic guns that shot plastic “safety bullets”. How did I ever survive childhood let alone 30+ years in law enforcement. Now my grandkids watch these videos with me and tell me “Grandpa, didn’t you ever get hurt playing with those toys?” I tell them, “ya sometimes, but if you did get hurt, it was your own fault”. What a time to be a kid.

Video games can be fun, but when all they do is play the same stupid maps with the same shitty hit scan weapons all day, you know it's not good for them. Oh, but wait, now there's LOOTBOXES! Ever wanted your 8 year old kid to be a degenerate gambler that commits credit fraud with your cards when you're not around? Well, look no further! Now we have LOOTBOXES! Nothing says 'ruin that life', like a skinner box specifically designed by sadistic psychologists to hook your kid and not let go! It's so bad that it's gone through multiple courts in multiple countries now. LOOTBOXES! Get them while supplies lasts. And be on the look out for our upcoming toy, HEROIN! You won't believe this one!

The one on a tripod mount? I had that.. it was awesome… I had a pretty well stock toy arsenal My first bike l, still with training wheels. Dad camouflaged and mounted a matching camouflaged tommy gun that could be used separately as well. Most of my friends dad served as well, so great neighborhood fun I also remember, I believe it was Fort Dix.NJ had family day or something. I was a little young for the cooler stuff like paratrooper drop , and wall climbs, but they had cork shooting galleries, and dummy Grenade throw skill games. It was so much fun…. Not sure why we stopped going… My dad served out of there in WW II , so it may have been just for vet families.

That 2nd video... First off... dang they stopped making those in the 80's... started to add those lame red/orange tips to the barrels... And secondly, those kids look more like German SS soldiers then how the US Infantry looked like in WW2... Also the handheld com isn't a walkie talkie, those are worn on the back as a backpack.. the hand held ones were called Handie Talkies...
@psilvakimo6 жыл бұрын
My dad told me that most of the US infantry in WW2 was made up of tough white kids we often call "hards". Kids from Texas, Arkansas, OK, Midwest, South, and other rural areas. I knew some of their kids in school. They were tough and could be mean as hell.
@mementomori13206 жыл бұрын
MajCyric the helmets are based off of the helmets used by US infantry during Vietnam. The cloaks, well I don't know. They're kids toys.

Those camo schemes are the kind used by the US Marines later in the pacific war. German camo is far more speckled or is more of a splinter pattern depending on the exact pattern worn.

Snow White The propaganda worked, baby boomers put complete blind faith in the government, now it's corrupted beyond repair. Great job with the country, and thanks for the shit hole country you left for us.

Steven Marzullo. Hey Paisano, how ya doin Amico Mio. Well I can understand in a way what you are saying. But I was one of those US Marines who went to Vietnam (1965---66). Not all of all of us are responsible for this. Alot of the blame falls on Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon.
@boostjunkie23206 жыл бұрын
david fyre You're right, I can't put blame on everybody, most people were simply taken advantage of. I have nothing but respect for Veterans and particularly Vietnam vets, I always felt like they didn't get the welcoming home, appreciation they deserved and help after the war because of politics. I recently learned about Contra, Bush senior. I read about the secret war in Loas. Mad world we are in.

Mr. Fryre: Hey, Nixon DID start the draw-down in 1969 which steadily occurred during his first term, until the Paris Peace Accords were signed in January, 1973. It was LBJ (with the Democratic-controlled Congress as his "rubber-stamp") increasing our Vietnam commitment from about 16,300 ("advisors") in late 1963 to 536,000 men in theater at the height in 1968 (LBJ's last year in office). Here's the DOD stats for Nixon's withdraw: 1969 - 475,200; 1970 - 334,600; 1971 - 156,800; 1972 - 24, 200; 1973 - 50. Of course Nixon did this cause he didn't want to be a "one term" president, and have his presidency "pulled down" by the Vietnam issue as it had LBJ. But whatever the motivation, the results were the same.

We used to play Army everyday back in the late 60s early 70s I had all of the cool stuff. so I would pack off a Gunny sack full of all kinds of cool toy guns to the neighbor kids houses and we would play Army and other outdoor games until 9 PM each night when everybody had to go home. And none of us ever shot anyone
