It is time for a Nancy's Notions Wardrobe Builder 101! In this incredible video Designer Joi will teach you all about pants fitting. These skills will be useful in any apparel sewing application and this is a great resource video to save and go back to whenever you need it!

Thank You! I took a pattern class in college..more years ago than we will admit and needed a refresher. This was wonderful. Now I need to find someone to help take correct measurements. LOL.

I have 4” measurement difference from and back rise. How would the side seams match?

I was following along and understanding very well until the last few minutes when you split the front piece down the middle. At that point I’m think why not just start out from a larger size from the get-go?

Would have been easier to follow if you’d have used your body to demo the paper pattern adjustments as you went along instead of having to remember what you did at the beginning of the video.

I will have to admit at chuckling at your attempt to be PC on explaining measurements. Not sure if later you will be talking about taking your sitting measurements and working them into your pattern. For example I am considered super size. There is several inches difference between standing and sitting measurements in hips, waist and thighs. If I am making them out of knit fabric I can usually use the patterns as long as the fabric has a high stretch ratio. This is why I rarely sew clothes.

LOL! There are so many things to share about pant fitting that we can't include in a single video. However, we are continuing pants into the April Lesson so there will be more tips. Make sure to watch for our WB FB live as we will be able to do live Q&A and I can address this. The problem with most pant methods is they don't address the body mass of the body- it truly is key! More resources coming this year for pants!

I would like to see you take measurements from an actual person and then adjust the pattern. Your explanation has me totally baffled. I do not get it at all.
