I believe there is a wood floor that came with cottage living that is essentially seamless for this area.

the brick makes sense to me, I imagine that when they built the factory and dock they reinforced that area, or it was built there because there were rocks. just wood wouldn't have held a whole factory IMO. now I want to move the cat lady and the hecklings in here
