Orks remain alive without the head for a while too. In rynns world Chapter master Kantor shoots off a head of an ork holding down deathwatch sergeant but the ork still has life in him to keep the sergeant pinned long enough for its fellows to cave his head in.

If you guys ever remember playing Shadow of War, Ratbag said something along the lines of "You wanna kill an Orc? Go for the head, usually does the job." But then again, these are 40k orks. An ork once lost his head and still lived to have it put on a bigger orks body.

In Shadow of Mordor, I decapitated my Nemesis twice and he still fought me at the end. In Shadow of War, the record is also twice, but thrice decapitated may still be survivable.

40k orks perfectly embody that “ you cannot kill me in a way that matters” fungus meme. They can survive decapitation, don’t need most of their organs and are nearly impossible truly get rid off once they infect a planet

things to know before fighting orks. they love to fight. its even through fighting that they multiply. 2. anything they believe can become true. this has a even greater effect if there are many orks. so never fight a orc warlord in their arena with a army of spectators. 3. they consistently tick off the tyranid hive mind. dont know about you guys. but i think i would rather fight demons than orcs
