Warith Deen Mohmmed rejects teachers from Saudi Arabia

In an interview with Tony Brown, Warith Deen Mohmmed said that a wealthy man from Saudia Arabia offered to send teachers to teach his community. He said, if he would have accepted the offer from the “Wahabi teachers”, his community would have become ritualistic Muslims who were monsters, dummies, and zombies instead of free thinkers.

It's perfectly fine according to the Sharia to think for yourself. However, you must firstly have the required knowledge to know what it is you know, and what it is you don't.And it's very important to make alliances with the Ulema of this Umma to properly practice our Din,but blind following is blameworthy. The reality is that American Muslims are still within their first century of being Muslims, and need adequate time to develop truly qualified Ulema to suffice .

@@EarnestAdviceIslam You obviously do not understand what Imam WD Muhammad did in America. The things you are saying about taking a son and all of this, are not true, and if he alluded to anything that the Christians say, he uses these examples as figures of speech, so that Christians listen to the message and ultimately listen to the message of Islam. It's called Dawah, and probably at a level that you are not use to or cannot appreciate. Imam was fully aware of what type of language he used and none of his followers are confused about their fundamental beliefs in Islam. If you are a muslim, you should be very careful of criticism of this man, talking down on a scholar is not good in the sight of Allah. This man is responsible single handedly for a half a million or more people giving shahada overnight. That is a lofty status in Allah sight. He is responsible for the largest, or at least one of the largest single event conversions in Islamic history. I became muslim because of his beautiful teaching and ability to speak to the african american mind in a way that my heart gravitated to. At the time, my ear and heart was completely shut off to hearing any foreigner not from my community speak to me about religion. Allah gave Imam a place in time in America for a type of Dawah to people who needed to hear that type of message. Don't hate.
