Inspired By An Iconic Pedalboard Staple Known For Cranked Amp Tone
The hard-clipping, op-amp-based circuit of the ODD delivers all of the sounds of a cranked, saturated tube amp made famous in legendary recordings. True to its inspiration, the ODD is perfect for adding a little breakup to an otherwise clean tone, or dramatically transforming your clean pedal-platform amp into a punk-rock powerhouse. To accurately deliver this popular modern tone, the ODD is built like an iconic pedalboard staple with through-hole construction using premium components, including a TLO82CP Op-Amp, 2N7000 transistors, & hand-selected capacitors & resistors.
Featuring classic-inspired controls & sounds, including a UK/US Switch, the ODD can quickly flip personalities. Engaging the UK setting distorts earlier, bumps the upper-mids, and increases volume - giving this setting more of a cranked, "chimey" amplifier tone. The US setting has a little more clean headroom, allowing the ODD to act more like a boost at first, and better aligns with traditional tweed-based "edge of breakup" amplifier tones.

Great brand with a great concept. Next pedal a Hardwire RV-7 Stereo Reverb? Is no longer made and is now also becoming a classic given the second-hand prices. I think it will also be a sales success.

Would love to know which OCD version it is based on? There are so many different ones. Or is it maybe a mix of different circuits?

I recently purchased this Odd pedal of yours and I really like it, regardless of whether it is inspired by the Ocd pedal or not. I think it has really nice sounds and the through hole construction is wonderful. Excellent choice, congratulations! However, I have a couple of questions to ask. In the past I had an OCD version 1.4. The odd pedal has less bass/less gain compared to version 1.4. Was it your choice? Does the cut (slightly higher than the OCD) of the low frequencies in your circuit occur before the distortion? Last question; why the choice of a germanium diode in position D2? If it wasn't there, how would the timbre change? Thanks for your answers. Greetings.

Does it cut bass freq ? I have a bass VI and doesn't want to loose the low end

Does this have an output buffer? If no, what is the output impedance?

Hey Jon! No, there is no output buffer. In bypass the pedal is entirely out of the signal path. When active, the output impedance is between 0 and 120 kOhm depending on the output Volume control setting.
