Nice demo, great gear, too. I love my 76, saving up for one of these.

definitely brought up the noise floor when you kicked in some compression on the first vocal but it sounded much more forward. thanks!

Tubes add noise. There is no denying that. They also add harmonic distortion, which can be desirable. Mask your noise using a notch filter @60Hz, and cutting levels where the instrument is silent. It's work. Yes. WORK. Big deal. Learn how to deal with it, and improve your recordings.

Owned my 2a for a few years now and absolutely love it. Vocals and bass guitars completely shine, and I follow up with my WA-EQP in most instances

Hi, I just got a WA2A with the pre emphasis on the front panel and I'm wondering what's the standard position mentioned in the user manual?

Nice vocals sounds. Is that an SM7 at the 2 minute, 32 second mark, during the Mama didn't buy me no fancy car bit? Its a really nice sound with and without the compressor.
@AdamRainStopper7 жыл бұрын
Yes, it is, SM7B into the WA-412 straight to disk, the vocal was re-amped through the WA2A for this demo.

Why does mine have an extra knob ?!?! It says meter adjust on the front . In between the limit/comp toggle and the output gain knob !
@JordanMeyer4 жыл бұрын
As I watch the video I realize they just put the knob on the front instead of the rear, Same with the pre -emphasis.

Great review! I guess on vocals and bass the emphasis knob could be a huge helper? Have you tried?
@WarmAudioOfficial7 жыл бұрын
Yes it can be a huge helper. It's a great way to get extra control of how the compressor works. I've found it really usefull.

I just bought WA-2A and EQP WA but I don’t know how to connect it with my Apollo twins, any idea?
@TheRealCowlick3 жыл бұрын
Outputs 3-4 of your appolo (assuming 1-2 are used for monitoring) go into one of the units stereo input (probably the Pultec) then the output of the Pultec goes into the Compressor's input. The LA-2A's output goes into your Apollo's input creating the Module chain. You can use 1/4 TRS cables or XLRs. If you were to record through them, you'd need a pre amp before the modules so you run into them with a hot enough Signal. For mixing you can check an I/O Tutorial for your personal DAW of choice.
@TreyBlaise3 жыл бұрын
@@TheRealCowlick thanks bro I have a preamp how do you connect with them?
@TheRealCowlick3 жыл бұрын
@@TreyBlaise well your pre amp should just be between your Apollo's in and out. So basically your chain should Start at your pre amp and end at the Apollo's in/out to the PC

had a chance to give this unit a try and it was simply amazing. U go in start clamping and u get what you're looking for. question though: i noticed that the knobs are sorta semi stepped when turning them? would that get in the way say if you're trying to match a pair of them on stereo material? or is it accurate enough in values even enough to be used for recall?
@AdamRainStopper7 жыл бұрын
You can link a stereo pair, then you are controlling both units with one set of controls.
