Based on a legendary tube microphone with an iconic design, the Warm Audio WA-8000 large-diaphragm condenser delivers a wide-open, up-front tone that imbues vocals with a radio-ready sheen. To emulate the spirit of the WA-8000‘s inspiration, Warm Audio‘s design team developed a bespoke K67-style capsule and turned to new-old-stock 6AU6 tubes and custom Lundahl transformers. Like the original, the WA-8000 sits in a custom-designed external heat sink assembly that draws heat away from the microphone‘s tube and electronics to optimize performance. For pop, hip-hop, R&B, and other genres where vocals take center stage, the WA-8000 large-diaphragm condenser microphone from Warm Audio is a knockout choice!

Listening on good headphones the mic does a good job of balance between clarity of each word and other sounds like breath, spit crackle, sibilance. Tube mics are a bit of a bother to set up because of the special cable and power supply (finding an AC plug when you need it), that's really the only down side. However, you don't need phantom power. Warm put in the quality with the capsule, transformer, and cable and it shows. Nothing really negative about the sound. Picked good singers for the demos, may not work as well for everyone.

@@demodeiowa Maybe in the future, but right now I have a Telefunken TF11 Plus a few other mics that I'm perfectly fine with. It doesn't take much to get a good vocal recording these days. *This is a slightly off-topic comment* , but I keep being struck at the _ubiquitousness_ of the Audio-Technica model "ATH-M50x" headphones - , especially when used for monitoring during "tracking" sessions. They actually produce merely mediocre quality sound, and aren't even Audi-Technica's best closed-back headphones - but they're just so _COMFORTABLE_ , that lots of studios use them, _anyway._ 😁

Saying gear lovers are mad because you bought a cheap clone is like saying Tesla owners are mad because you bought a Nissan Leaf for 1/4 of the price and still get to point A-B 😂😂😂

For those whining about the solid state power supply, clearly you have no idea how a tube mic works. No audio is passing through the power supply tubes. If Warm created a solid state power supply that pushes clean steady power to the mics tube stage, then there is no difference between a tube and solid state version. If its a crap solid state power supply that produces no clean steady power to the tube, then yes there is a problem there. This is why most cheap tube mic knockoffs suck. The knockoffs use mass produced cheap component power supply’s from China that ruin good tubes.

How come it's ok to rip off a mic that's still in production? When Chinese do this to Americans it's a theft, but not the other way around? Same goes for ripping off Neumann mics.

@@tecno8335 absolutely not. Since Sony is still in production, and it's serial production by WA it's called plagiarism, infringement of intellectual rights-theft.

I have a wa8000 clone I’m making for $120. It sounds just like this mic for 10x less and sounds almost similar. Why pay $1200 for a mic when you can make great records with my $120 mic 😎. Ugh WA snobs are mad because they got ripped off 😂😂

The Sony C800G is literally the most over-rated mic in the world. You can hear the sibilant in the echo. You shouldn't be able to. It's a harsh mic. Worthless.
