@@mamalovesbeige I must agree, that's what drew me to watching Sarah's videos. I've only been commenting on content I am watching in the last week( I'm a newbie as they say, lol). I am not on instagram so this is where I get to see her content, I wish people would realise we are all not living in a cookie cutter world and be mindful when they say things to another human beings. I'm a practicing buddhist and for me a textured neutral space helps me being centred. Have a beautiful day!🌸

the plain, white canvas is GENIUS! i was considering the same idea in my own dining room in large scale (72" x 48" horizontal). for me, the blank canvas is both art and metaphor for life. i'm so thrilled to see that someone else had the same idea!

not a dumb question at all! i equate it to ones life being a blank canvas… you paint what you want to see, what feels right in your soul. it’s akin to the metaphor of life being a blank page and you write your own story. side note… i do (in fact) now have a large scale blank canvas in my dining room. aside from it being a minimal piece that compliments my aesthetic, every time i look at at it, it’s a reminder that “I’m the artist of my life… “😉

For sure! Minimalism isn’t for everyone, which some people don’t understand haha but it is truly calming and needed for me. I tried a bunch of whites and I didn’t want anything too stark (we did stark in our old home) so went with Alabaster since it’s more muted and less bright 🤍

your canvas in the dining room you could add texture with drywall compound and then paint it white, I have a few black and whites that I have done and you will love the texture

Minimalism house normally has one issue... echo Even in this video. Maybe adding more textiles like rugs can help. It’s even worse when you have a higher ceiling like ours..

Great home tour! Love your warm minimalist style. Whatever happened to your martini table at the front entry? I think that’s what they’re called. I got one bc you had it 😂 Gotta do the Sarah style 😉. Your art work above the mantle is so neat. Looks like a satin cloth was layed over it. Quite unique I must say. Do you have a video showing how you made it? Or what you used? Would love to know. I love your home so much. It's not over styled but very warm and comfortable looking. I'm trying to be minimal too. So how do you manage to not buy more stuff? Do you stay away from furniture stores, thrift stores? Lol.

I do!! It’s not necessarily soft, it’s linen but I’d say it is soft for it being linen. We have the color “natural.”

I thought about it! The ceilings are pretty high though and I wouldn’t do just the bottom windows, so I don’t think I’ll end up putting treatments in there. I’m still open though - never say never!

I have very similar lamps that I found at a thrift shop for $10 a pair, I just loved them when I saw them, I’m going to buy the same shade you have because I love the look. What color did you paint the lamp?

Ohh $10?! Amazing find. Love making a lamp your own! The color was the lime wash they had at Home Depot (there’s only 1 brand at my local store) - the beige color 🤍

We have white oak hardwoods with 2 coats of Bona Nordic seal and a matte poly on top 🤍

We’re in Georgia! Thank you. Yes we did the stairs. I can’t remember exactly the $$ for the stairs, but we used Superior Stairs and Rails and they can give you an estimate! 🤍

I get the minimalist approach you are going for but I feel like some part of your home are disconnected for example the kitchen give me a farmhouse vide so when you leave the entrance, living room, dinning the kitchen feel out of place. Also the bathroom is more on the traditional home. Not judging, not there anything wrong with them. There are all beautiful on their own but not connect if that make sense. I feel like a more sleek and kitchen will go well with the clean and simple look you are going for. ❤

Hi! This house is very 2000s and we’ve been renovating over the last 3 years. We haven’t touched our kitchen or bathrooms. That’s why they feel disconnected ☺️

Warm minimalism is erroneous. The interior design style is modern organic. For clarification watch Garret LeChic on misused trends and terminology.

Same here. Social media has really ruined it for so many people. A lot of people who don’t have taste are trying to copy and paste taste that they don’t understand or have any history or grounding to. It just seems so formulaic, sterile, and dead.
