Hello friends, in this video we'll begin with stretching and warm up exercises. Then we'll proceed with exercises to strengthen your non-dominant hand and improve your tempo using a metronome.
One of the main missions of the timbalero is to keep the band in time, maintain tempo of the song. We are the "metronome" of the other musicians. It is better to be a timbalero who keeps good time that to be one who is very skilled but not very precise with time.
With practice, this simple exercise will help you keep the time and beat of the song. Start with simple rhythms then slowly immerse yourself in higher tempos as you feel more comfortable with this exercise.
