Yes it is! It can be used with almost any floor heating uncoupling membrane.

It's recommended to use 3/8" thinset underneath the prodeso, the prodeso itself is only 0.219″ (less than a quarter of an inch) and then 3/8" is used again to install the tile. So all those layers would be just under an inch. Adding in the tile thickness, I think you would possibly be over the 3/4" that you're aiming for. Heating cables are not rated to be used under fixtures or up and around something like a bathtub. Most tubs are made of materials that do not conduct heat well so that they stay insulated and retain the heat in the water for longer. You can begin laying the cable as soon as the product is thin set down onto the subfloor. This is why this product can save so much time - turning what would normally be a multi-day install into a one-day project. The underside of the membrane has a porous material that helps it grip the thinset typically installed beneath the membrane layer. The square pockets that make the room for the cable, are designed to be one way up (the way it should be installed) to help with vapor management and crack suppression after installation. So it should not be installed upside down as there's no real benefit from it and the product would not work as intended at all.

Hi Cristi, you can pour self-leveling cement over the Prodeso + Cable if it's compatible with the installation of the flooring that will be installed on top. If you're not using the Prodeso Uncoupling Membrane, just make sure the mats or cables are securely fastened to the subfloor before pouring. Thanks for watching!

A certified electrician must connect the thermostat and wire it to the floor heating system. Hope this answers your question!

If Uncoupling Membrane is not used, floor heating cable can still be installed with fixing strips, but it will be more time consuming. Without uncoupling membrane, the tile is not as well supported as it could be, but it is not absolutely necessary for this type of install. Thanks for watching!
