Regardless if it’ll be great or bad, M. Night Shyamalan is one of the few major directors in Hollywood that is making original films for a major studio that can secure funding and great actors. And his films always feel like they’re his own creations where it doesn’t feel influenced by a studio. While he’s hit-and-miss (he’s made some awful films and some amazing films), I’m always down to see a new M. Night movie because I truly never know how I’m going to react until the theater lights go down. No two people are going to experience an M. Night movie the same way, and that’s pretty neat!

If anything else, I like that M. Night takes on original stories that he writes instead of just more sequels/remakes/big franchise or adaptation movies. Execution is all that matters in the end, originality won't count for much if it sucks, but originality is very much needed as a breath of fresh air for moviegoers (not counting indie movies, obviously, but it doesn't feel often we see original big-budget movies).

Man, this movie feels like an instant classic! I keep coming back to this trailer, as I'm literally mesmerized. The problem with M. Hitchcock vibes, insane Hartnett performance and most likely some memorable twist.

When watching trailers like this, you can expect a few things: -That this particular director will give you something as to how the the story and narrative is going to play out which means there’s more than meets the eye. -That the director will most likely do a cameo in it like he did in some of his recent movie projects he had done. -There’s a psychological or emotional aspect and twist to the movie so it’s not just an ordinary movie. -The twist is going to deal with the title and how it’s often taken out of context so it brings in the audience to think outside the box. Like in this case I’m getting that maybe the main character is actually a schizophrenic or super paranoid so his inner thoughts are getting the best of him. Just saying. Overall a great movie idea and I can’t wait to see what he has in store for us.
