The only problem with using auto mode is the settings will change on you if the light changes, and now you have edit each frame differently every time the video looks different. But auto does have it’s place, if you fly in the same direction and light doesn’t change it does a get job. Great video, and thanks for sharing.

u can use pro mode and still set only the shutter speed to auto while having control over wb and iso

Most of the time in auto, but if I want to be 100% sure it does not change I’ll flick it into manual mode

Fireworks is tough, so in that case Pro mode and bumping the iso might be required

Auto all day long, tried and tested by far better drone videographers than us lot.

This doesn't make much sense if i'm honest... the motion blur you get has nothing to do with using auto mode or pro mode, assuming you expose the image correctly for the conditions and, if applicable, the filter you have on. The main benefit of *NOT* using auto mode is not having exposure shift during the shot, which looks really unprofessional.

Motion blur is determined by your shutter speed and actual motion in the image - so you can say that, with the right filter you get it regardless - my point is there is only one parameter you can change in pro mode l, that is the shutter speed - then you might leave it auto and let the drone take care of that, instead of ending up with over or underexposed footage because you forgot to dail it in. In auto your exposure will be correct from the getgo and you can even lock it if you worry about it changing during flight

If there is no change in the lighting condtion, there is no exposure shift. If the light changes you need exposure shift, otherwise your image is over- or underexposed. But I know what you are talking about. To achieve this goal you have to avoid changes of the light - sometimes not practicable. On the other hand you can use auto exposure, but lock the AE as long as the image is well exposed. This is best practice for me.

@@peterschmidt4940, I also mostly lock exposure. Works great if you select it when exposure is right. I point the drone in the direction I Fly, check exposure and select Exposure lock. Then hit the record button and start flying!

The motion blur effect is from the devil! It rarely gives an aesthetic image. Maybe I can accept it in the case of a fast-moving car or a runner, but the continuous use of 32 or 64 filters is completely incomprehensible. Very slight underexposure gives better results for drone photography, which is easier to achieve with -2/3 or -1 EV even with the AUTO setting. The UV filter makes more sense, the video will be much clearer in sunny weather. Put the horse's head in my bed! 😄
