Ok I was able to install the stem lock and stem and new handlebars with only a few cuss words.I put new grips and a duster kill switch to cut the head light and tail lights. waiting on super Moto wheels from warp 9. I'm pleased with the warp 9 products. Did I install the stem lock correctly...I think so...there is no problems so far....it may be a little tight but I'd rather have it tight then loose. Can't with for those 17"x2.50 custom SM wheels...then we will work on the power upgrades! It's looking real good.

i messed up and didn’t loosen the clamps … boogered up the stem bolt …and i have a lot of back n fourth play when i front brake… hopefully i can get situated when the new stem bolt arrives , very informative video for someone new to these. thanks

Boy, the more of your videos I watch, the more convinced I get you should not be allowed anywhere near mechanical tools :D :D :D They are kind of informative though - shows us what stupid mistakes not to make ourselves (although some of them are pretty obvious from the beginning I gotta say) :)))

Thanks for watching. To summarize my track wheel setup what I did is buy a set of Sur Ron Supermoto wheels, unlace them, lace the rear rim to the front hub, then I laced the rear hub onto a 17x2.5" rim. So I'm running 17x2.15" front and 17.2.5" rear. Then I installed 2 front Dunlop Moto3 Slick tires 90/80/17s on both the wheels. The Moto3s are awesome they're supersoft and have tons of grip which is hard to find for the Sur Ron sized tires. So do you recommend replacing it when it's new? I think it's a good idea if you're going with a warp9 stem to install the stem lock at the same time. Any feedback appreciated.

Sure it doesn't hurt. I mainly installed it so I can install a fender but it helps you really crank down on the headset bearings. Theg love to come loose.

make sure you are loosening the clamp bolts

Beside the steering being stiff, what happens if it's too tight?

@shawnracoma7245 bearings get damaged i think, i overtightened mine and sometimes it makes horrid sounds, going to replace the bearings soon to try and solve the issue
