This is definitely one of those expansions that becomes a default part of the game once you get it. One valid strategy that I use as much as I can with anomalies is to always allow yourself to get hit at least once on a turn when you gain an anomaly. The penalty is you must remove a token, but that token may be an anomaly. So it removes the future penalties at the cost of shield damage.

I agree with your score. The Anomaly adds one more choice to your actions and it fits the game smoothly without feeling overly complicated. Like you, whenever I play Warp’s Edge, I will always use the expansion.
