Hate it when they call it "hair metal" degrading the actual music. I got news for you. ANYTHING from the 80's sounds better than anything the radio has put out over the past 25 years. This music had Heart and soul, with lyrics that actually meant something. Put aside the long hair and flashy costumes. The music was still ACTUAL MUSIC. Not like the senseless crap they call music today. And i'm very very thankful i grew up in the 80's. OH and for the record.

To think they were relentlessly made fun of in the 90’s and on. They were huge talent and wrote some really good songs. No bands today can hold a candle. JL could sing and write.

It's all about timing. They had just released their 1st album in 1989. Sadly, not long after that, Grunge and alternative took over (Thanks to the industry). Same thing can be said about Skid Row, Firehouse and a bunch of other great 80s bands.

Totally different types of music. Without sounding like the “back in my day” guy, let me just tell ya this much-eventually ya get tired of feeling, almost obligated to bash other types of music just because it’s not rock or metal and you learn to just accept that it’s just not for you dude-it wasn’t made for you, it’s not your thing, that’s all.

Jani was a special person. And this band kicked the fuck out of anybody in their prime. I know there's others that could actually sing live, (looking at you Sebastian, Coverdale, and the young version of Vince Neil) , but Jani was different. He helped me out a lot back in the day, and I'm still alive because of that help. But nobody, and I mean nobody, out-performed these guys. Period

True Pro’s. It’s rarely done like this anymore. I saw warrant in SD at a small club in I believe 1993. After Seattle scene dropped. The PA crapped out. Jani proceeded to play covers of Queen and other bands with just a mic and piano. We drank outta the same Cuervo bottle. No shit story. Maybe the best show I’ve ever seen. 100 peeps there max. @@irocitZ Burned out? Jani said the record company didn't hear a single on the album that was called " uncle Tom's cabin" . He then proceeded to write Cheryl pie in 5 minutes and said it was the biggest mistake he ever made. He said he hated every time he had to sing that song and it ruined his life.. I think it's safe to say he hated it 100%..

@@CarsonPalmerFan I remember him saying that in an interview, in the grand scheme of things it was a huge hit for them as we all know. Unfortunately, like Jani said the song was all over the place. Once the band and Cherry pie took off the record company, management and the media burned it to the ground until everyone including the band got sick of it. I mean, it's a shame because it is a good song. The bright side of it is I'm sure it made some 💰💵💸💰 for the band, I wish I wrote it. 😁

I grew up a native southerner, and you always heard the legends like this. No swamps where I was, but lots of creeks, rivers and the like. In the 80s, when cocaine flooded the I-75 corridor, so many local sheriffs were very good at looking the other way.

This was supposed to be the title track and title of the album that became Cherry Pie after the label demanded a song that was more commercial be written and cherry pie was written. If you listen to the rest of the album without Cherry Pie it's actually a very well written musically mature album, sadly Cherry Pie drags it down.
