great question being asked tbh. the guy honestly thought about the question for a long time, planned it, even re-written it multiple times to be as clear as possible, and it shows.

I've been drinking Coke since I was a kid. When I was in College I was thinking of being a Stock Broker. Every one said my friends and family you'll lose money. Some said it's like gambling ! I can imagine if I had bought Coke stock in the 80's.

Ty Cobb was buying Coke stock a hundred years ago and retired very wealthy for his time. When he died he was worth millions while most ball players had nothing.

I hope you aren't letting two overweight guys convince you that coke is a good thing. You're much better off without it, if you like being healthy and getting a pretty girlfriend.

@edwardkim2511 there is a big difference in investing in solid U.S. blue chip companies and speculating. If you expect to get rich quick, you are gambling. If you want to build your wealth over time you are investing.

In the business world? Maybe some value it... but at the CEO level... they only care about what they actually have to deal with. I would rather a crusty engineer not blow up my space shuttle than a charaismatic chad. So it depeneds on what you mean by character. Is integrity not better than the guy who goes out for beers after work with the boss?

@@dougdetwiler7603Buffett is an investor in addictions. They don’t invest in cigarettes anymore, but they used to. Sugar addiction? They own Coca Cola. Peoples addiction to their phones? They own Apple. Society’s addiction to fossil fuels? They own oil companies. Shopaholics are real. So Buffett owns credit card companies. Honestly I’m shocked that they don’t own companies that sell caffeine.

Whether or not Buffett in particular is a reprobate I don't know.
