@John Doe is that quote from Graham? My reading of it is that a single investor can't out-analyse the very smart people on wall street or at institutional hedge funds. So from that angle, it's 'efficient'. What's left unspoken is that there are still other ways of finding value. (Such as looking at a company's moat and management, and patiently waiting for some event to put the stock price on sale.)

Millions have probably read the book, but it takes a Buffet to take the info and go further.

And Buffet was destined to be a billionaire. No amount of books can compensate for that.

Reading one book cannot possibly make you an expert. Buffett has spent a lifetime reading economic and stock market books as well as reading literally thousands of annual reports. On top of which (as he says) you have to have the temperament for stocks and most people don't.

@@amdistant5547 I honestly disagree. The book is an entirely comprehensive guide to intelligent investing and security analytics. If you understand the book back to front with no compromise, it will put you well ahead of many students, even post grads etc. but thats the thing, very few experienced CFA's claim to have read the entire book, even fewer claim they understand it entirely. Its a book that requires extremely intense study to understand absolutely.

"what was said was not as important and it wasn't said as well" (as important and as well as in the previous edition I presume)

@@wisniemeer I just got it two days ago ! I haven’t read it yet. I’m reading another book right now. Out of excitement I just flipped through the pages, it’s pretty lengthy and looks thorough but I don’t have a definite answer as of yet.
