The LA Lakers' opening night wasn't as smooth as they'd have liked. After leading for all three quarters, the wheels came off for LA in the fourth quarter as the Golden State Warriors went on to win 121-114. LeBron James and Anthony Davis both had over 30 points, but Russell Westbrook finished with only eight points in his Lakers' debut. Meanwhile, Steph Curry finished with a triple-double despite calling his own play quote: 'trash.' Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe react to the Lakers' loss despite big games from AD and LeBron.

The Warriors even being "outmatched" for a majority of the game were with striking distance even through they trailed through three quarters. Give rh Warriors more credit. They were good before KD. The warriors have a good team, the Lakers have a team of good individuals. Iguodala looked like he never left and all the pieces they got seemed to fit like previous championship Warriors team. Not to mention Poole who is becoming who the Warriors envisioned. Remember this is the second time within a week the Warriors played the Lakers, pre-season or not the warriors are off and running in this match-up. This season will be great for them.

A big team vs a small team will always end up with the smaller (and younger) team playing better towards the end of the game. Teams this season will have to choose to double steph and let the other warriors get layups and open threes, or try give steph a little more space and shut down those open looks for everyone else. My guess is they only look at Steph because thats what the roster on paper suggests. But the warriors have way too many shooters for that this season. This isnt last years Warriors.

Pelinka messed this one up. Instead of trading for Russ ($40M), they could've traded for Buddy ($24M) and signed Dinwiddie ($18M); got an elite shooter and good playmaker for the same price🤦🏾‍♂️.

Nah Westbrook needs to be trusted. This team can be really good, but they won't be until he is comfortable. He puts pressure on the defense constantly, and thats always been an issue with lebron teams when he is on the bench. That was bad coaching last night. Russel and Rondo have no business being on the court together.
