“Markkanen, as several have chronicled, becomes extension eligible on Aug. 6. He’s on an expiring $18 million contract and due for a large long-term raise. There are several within the league who have grown more convinced that the Jazz, after exploring Markkanen’s trade market, plan to renegotiate-and-extend Markkanen, using their saved up cap space. That would take Markkanen off the table for six months, if the extension is signed on Aug. 6, bringing him back into the mix on Feb. 6, the exact date of next season’s trade deadline. If Markkanen waits to extend an extra day, Aug. 7 or beyond, he’d be ineligible to be traded next season, an extra bit of leverage for Markkanen and an added layer of information to dictate Utah’s ultimate decision on his future.”

Take a big loss if necessary, but GET RID of Wiggins. The Dubs need players who are Hungary to win, not those who might play good every three or four years when he's not to self-involved to keep his mind in the game and have a winning mentality. It was a plus to get him, because he had his best season with us and helped us to a titled, but that lemon has been fully squeezed. Time to unload him.

Wiggins is a solid role player tho. He’s doesn’t take many shots plays with the system and had crazy good defense. They just need a second option. If they get Lauri and keep Wiggins and kuminga. That’s Steph 1st option. Lauri second option. Kuminga 3rd option. Wiggins 4th option. Warriors need some like like Wiggins who can guard players like Jaley brown,Tatum,book,ant etc.

The trade is Wiggins to the Raptors for a heavily protected first round pick in 2030, that allows Warriors to offer their 2029 and 2031 first round picks to the Jazz. Jazz get Moody, 4 FRPs (2025-2031) + swaps, and filler for Lauri. Lauri is 27, Jazz suck and they want to suck for the next 2 seasons at least, so Jazz are just looking for the best trade available, that is us. Wiggins going back to Canada for a top 20 protected 2030 first (same pick we used to trade poole), is a fair deal. To make that trade work, we might have to throw in a couple 2nds, and money it would be Olynyk and Boucher coming back to us.

Are the warriors just gonna throw away half of a season in currys prime hoping they ainge will agree to a trade then and then hope they can turn their season around while getting Lauri use to the system? Or are they fine throwing this year away to maybe get him under contract next yr? Curry just might not have time for that..... and if they dont get Markennan... it will be like when they traded j rich for b wright and didnt do the other part of KG. it will just look like an idiotic move

Thank God we've been doing moves aside from focusing on Lauri. If we devoted all the negotiating resources to Utah, we woulda wasted time sooo bad. The prospects of this falling into place is still slim. I think we should start looking for the next big man with the closest skill set. As much as we'd like to throw Post in there, he's still raw.

His play is complementary to the Dubs but he won't be viewed as a scoring threat to lure defenders away from Steph. We'd have a hard time convincing the team though coz TJD has identical stats with him and TJD has higher BPG.

the plan can not be to throw away half of the season in currys prime (while almost half the roster is reading articles that they might just waiting to be traded).... and all this hinging on what danny ainge feels like doing in February.... THEN hope they can get Lauri acclimated to the system while turning the season around in the final 30 games? I just feel like there is a huge portion of that plan that would need to go right, and most of that plan is completely out of the warriors control.

the warriors can not go into the season with half of their roster thinking they are about to be traded. If they cant get a deal done for Markennan, then they need to move on. A player that can provide 80-85% of what Laurie does over the next couple years AND who could be had for about 1/3 of what ainge is asking.... Nicola Vucevic from chicago. Warriors could probably get him tomorrow for Wiggins and Moody for him and a filler

Whatever you do Dubs, do NOT trade PODZ. The kid is a stud with the rock. Low turnovers, high IQ, playmaker, solid shooting threat, gets you a crazy amount of boards and second chance ops as a result. Oh AND he plays D. The perfect all around player for this system. Simple Solution: GS needs to pull in additional teams along with Utah to help facilitate a trade that includes Wiggins, Looney, and maybe Moody as well depending on the picks they attatch and what the other teams involved are including that Utah values. The only real issue is, if they acquire Laurie and keep JK, can they afford both, and does that mean Laurie or Draymond is playing at the center position?!?!

Levin for Wiggins. Levin is not a great defender but he's a great secondary scorer. better than Klay or Poole as a SG in that secondary scorer's role. Kuminga can make up for the loss of Wiggins (SF) defensively and scores much better as the team's starting 3.

They are wasting valuable time here trying to get Lauri.. The longer they wait, they probably wont be able to get anyone. I'm OK trying to get Brandon Ingram or Deandre Ayton if available. They both have size. Ingram reminds me of KD (obviously he's not KD) and Ayton can be good as a big man that can actually score. Love Looney, but he don't score he's a passer first. We need guys that can put point on the board to help Curry.. that's my little take on what we should do.

Some gsw fans dont realize You cant have your cake AND eat it😂 You either want curry to have all the help he can possibly have Right Now to win, which may include giving up Kuminga Or you are ok with whithering currys final 2-3 seasons playing non-meaningful basketball as they dont make the playoffs, and let the young guys develop. Option2, imo, isnt fair to Curry. If Curry truly wanted to win, and the warriors dont want to compete for a chip, then i think its fair to give him up to a contender, as much as that would hurt to watch, and then truly just let the young guys develop.

Ayton is wiggins in the 7 foot form. Motor is on and off, pretty soft, and unlike wiggins is a bad defender

@@ninerempire3398 No comparison Ayton averages nearly 20 pt 10 rebounds. He would be the dominant interior presence and solidify the front court. Jk and MM can easily take Wiggs minutes. I don't think they need LM. Overrated and asking price is too high. Give GP2 and Wiggs for Ayton makes perfect sense.

3 team trade: Kuminga and Clarkson to Spurs; Keldon Johnson, Podz, and Moody and 2026 1st and 2028 1st GSW picks plus 2027 swap plus 2025 Atlanta Hawks 1st pick and Spurs 2025 first round pick; Reasoning: Jazz want a lot of pick and dont want to pay Kuminga as he cant shoot 3s which Jazz make a priority; GSW get their guy and can trade youngsters since add some free agents recently; and Spurs add Kuminga who will team up with Wemby as their top 2 stars with Vassel being the #3. Deal really contingent on how much SPurs value Kuminga.
