My first video of the new year and the first of my videos logging the progress with my Earl of Warwick forces. This video looks at the Bombard kit from Perry Miniatures and logs the build and paint job with a small amount of history as well.

Fantastic work. Really shows off why those bombard were plant it and leave it. There was no moving them once the battle started.

I have recently built and painted the bombard myself, and am currently doing th crew. The gun itself I tried to make like Red Lead, as Mons Meg, a similar design and era gun, was painted with red lead to protect it I wish I had done mine on a single base, and not the FOUR bases I went with, two for the gun and brace, one in front to give the mantlet something to stand on, and one at the back to help with the "dug in" look I have given it

I love the bombard, the only thing I would do differently is to build a more dug in effect 👍

Such a cool base! Do we know if bombards were used against infantry in the field?
@7thson726
@7thson726 3 жыл бұрын
Cheers 👍 from whatbive found they there is evidnece of them being used in a few battles where static positions were prepared such as the 2nd Battle of St Albans. They were also used in port defence, in Calais the garrison fired bombards at Warwick to prevent him entering the harbour when he was trying to flee there following his abandonment of Edward IV

Well, at different times it was available to both, mostly depending on who held London, though historically most the records show it being used by the Yorkists in sieges 👍
