Definitely leave the plastic wheel caps off! I know Hummers never came with one, but with all the trouble (and time/money) that tranny cost you, it would've been simpler (and maybe better) to fit a manual tranny. Definitely would've been one of a kind, and more fun to drive!!

I would love to see that but i doubt a manual would fit cause the shift tower would probably hit the transmission tunnel, not to mention relocating the shifter because the transmission is at an angle away from the driver.

Both of our Hummers had the CTIS system on the tires , one was original military style , the second one we bought had custom rims we ditched and went back to Mil tires and after market CTIS . I cant imagine having a flat or puncture somewhere and not being able to drive home before changing it. SO IF you want to have any kind of a center Hub Make it a CTIS hub. Im sure they can make them now for any rims , just length of hose differs ...

Remove center bump which consume whole space. Fix the doors like jeep wrangler and plastic dashboard and other areas. Then it would be useful

Leave the plastic on the wheels but cut them down so they don't stick out so much. . Flush them into the wheel blend them in so good. ...

That's a lot of stuff to know. No wonder it cost 250k for a luxery h1 although I'm sure it's a hell of a lot eaiser just installing all new technologies rather than mating them with the old

Only milspec automotive charges that amount... Unless you're getting a super rare, nice H1. H1 Hummers can be had all day long for a fraction of $250k

Unless it was originally a steam engine, it never was protected against "emp"

Not so true. Pre-1988 vehicles were free of the computer modules that control most functions of new vehicles. Some modern vehicles have 1000+ chips. It's all in the wiring. Fine long wires = bad. Thicker shorter wires = better. The micro circuitry of computer modules that make them highly fryable. A Carrington level solar event aimed at earth would brick most, to all late model vehicles, but the '68 Shelby's would stand a good chance of being unharmed, or at least easily repairable. Jay Leno should have a few of the main electrical components of his collector cars in shielded crates.
