Su-25 and A6E Tram or Phantom(ARB+TRB)/F5C(Only ARB but pretty good and much easier for a rookie)

If you're more of a fighter pilot, I'd say go for the F-5C. Once this update hits, the F-5C will be rank seven and you'll be able to research the entire USAF and USN tree.
