To be fair, as a kid I remember spending hours, having tons of fun exploring the park, buying costumes, and finding the funny death animations. The racing itself though, ironically, I found boring and repetitive. I remember this game for the platforming more than I do for the actual racing, even though that's what they named the game after.

It's so funny and horrifying when you miss a stunt and the character lands on their head, slides across the ground upside down, then explodes. 🤣

I really just think Tag Team Racing released a little too early. It's not a bad game, it's just missing balance, variety, and polish. It's my number 1 pick for a remake imo

Fun trivia about the PS2 version: The PSP content is actually in its memory, the PSP link just unlocks it. You can actually hack the game or use Action Replay codes to access it without a PSP at all.

If CTTR were to be remembered for three things, I'd say they are the car-clashing mechanic, giving Nina her definitive personality, and making hub worlds actually interesting. I can't stress that last point enough - CTTR has some of the most fun platform-based exploration of the whole series and should serve as a template for all future "hub world-based" games. Fun fact: every track has three different versions of "final lap" music which depend on your position when starting the lap.

Twinsanity and Tag Team are practically 2 of the biggest games of my childhood, and they are one of the main reasons I love music so much, Nothing will change my mind about these 2 games. In my eyes, They shine brighter than all the stars in the sky.

This is has always been one of my fav Crash games. Overhated tbh. It isn’t perfect… but at least it ain’t Boom Bang…

I thought a lot of the in game dialogue in this game was super funny, especially the park workers and how all the racers get pissed off when you keep talking to them.

You know you are in for a treat when you get a notification from WumpaLewis. This review was definitely an improvement over the old one. I didn't think this game was all that bad and it was definitely overhated as it had good ideas and concepts, a pretty awesome battle mode, the Rolling Thunder minigame, fun and interesting platforming, Tiki Turbo's music and of course the bowling minigame was quite fun. Btw still waiting for the Crash Tag Team Racing Let's Play.

They really love killing chickens in this game, one of the idle animations for crash is just him kicking one

If I'm being honest, crash tag team racing was probably my favorite crash game when I went through all of them on the PS2. It's way too hated.

This was actually one of my favorites growing up. Playing it now I still really enjoy it. The racetracks are boring, but I moreso just control the shooting until I'm almost out of ammo. Hell, sometimes I just race and let the CPU do its job. The minigames are so amazing, the platforming is fun, and exploring every area were amazing

Dude Cortex's weapon absolutely doesn't suck, I literally got all my highscores in Rolling Thunder on all tracks using it, it is absolutely insane when upgraded, hold down the firing button and the blast is so damn massive I used to blow up all 6 cars in 1 hit in certain cases when they all cluster around.

I think this nina is the definitive nina in the series, she still has her original design but with the voice and personality that will be seen in future crash games after this one.

i used to love tyrannosaurus wrecks when i was a kid. i would waste hours combing every inch of that area for secrets. also loved to push parkgoers onto the little rail that brought you to tyrannosaurus wrecks and leave them there to die lmaoo

Great video.Crash Tag Team racisng was a fun game that just needed some extra polishing. I agree with keeping the 4:3 video size. I do however dislike the current "background" since its blurry. Kinda hurts my eyes. A hd non blurry non moving calm neutral background would be best in my opinion. Looking forward to you replaying the crash games. Specialy crash bash since you started but never finished a playtrough of that.

If there’s something I like about Tag Team Racing, it’s Pasadena O’Possum.

Tag Team Racing is pretty damn undercooked. It's a real hot mess of a game, but it is a FUN hot mess. Lots of variety due to the many gameplay genres, even if they could have used more development. Wandering around in the hub worlds connecting stuff is quite addictive. I feel the racing might have felt more intuitive if the clashing had a stipulation, like a limited gauge run you had to activate first or something. I do like all the extra modes however, like the stunt arena or mowing down all the roadblocks. The game is a bit too simple and easy, but as such it's probably the best 'unwind session' in the Crash series, the game you can just play casually to chill out.

This game was my first real video game along with crash of the titans. And even if it's definitely not great, the drifting sucks especially, I love everything else about it. I have great memories with it.

This is my second favorite crash 🎮 of all time. It came out in diffrent time in my like 12 goin on 13 and i thought i was to old to play crash games and just play madden 2k etc. But this game was so fun and diffrent with team mechanic and actually making it funny during the platform when u die. crash tag team racing isnt nearly as bad as people say they it is. its a mix of classic crash jumping spinning and that and then racing like ctr, its a good game

I really liked this game just for the sheer variety of things to do and find. It feels like an actual theme park. I completed everything and it didn't feel like it was a grind or anything, just good vibes all around.

For the next CTR, It would be a cool idea if the clash mechanics is added to a battle mode along with all the weapons polished and balanced in order to have more variety of gameplay features; Furthermore, they could bring tag team racing stages back with slightly improvements here and there as well.

Funniest part during racing would be, you can accidentally crash on the wall or someone could mess u over big time and u can be stranded on the side of the road. Then just turn in ur clashing system & wait for someone to drive past then get pulled back into the race 😂😂😂

The most fascinating thing about CTTT's platforming is that it's actually decent despite being a late addition that might be rushed.

This is the best one I remember! I love how the burps changed it was funny as a kid, also how cortex screamed he thinks he's going to be sick over a big jump, I wish Nintendo would re make it but keep original voices, so it's nostalgic to us. I bought the new ctr today thinking it was tag team but nope it's only nitro kart prettied up. Received only Disappointment as i realised its just nitro kart. Also so much as the masks sound so different.. no enjoyment this end from it at all.

Fun fact The chicken challenge replaces every coin in the map with a chicken and makes every crate metal.

I did said that before, but this game was always a guilty pleasure of main as a kid. I think what I enjoyed about it is simple exploration fact, more than racing itself, which yeah shows how flawed it is in comparison. Racing and gaining crystals from races were more of a chores to do list, simply because the items/weapons when clashed were OP, but tying it in with insane rubberbanding, you're forced to spam most OP shit, cause when you try to race by your lonesome, you're a weak vulnerable target, which I believe Caddy Daddy also said something similar in the past. Either way, it can be enjoyed, for how goofy it is. I mean... so was twinsanity.

Hi Lewis. Not sure if you'll see this. Your Developer Time Trial Videos for CTR inspired me to replay the Crash N'Sane Trilogy to completion properly. I began two weeks ago. Crash 1 and Crash 2 have been completed to perfection... all gems, crystals and PLATINUM TIME RELICS. I'm now working on the final Crash 3 Platinum Time Relic which is on Future Tense. Once I get this, I've completed the entire trilogy. I've been listening to your reviews and such in the background. They kept me sane. Especially as I nearly tore my hair out trying to Platinum Relic Stormy Ascent, The Lab, Cold Hard Crash, and the Motorbike levels. I didn't think I could do it, and then I saw your Developer Trial Vids. After I knock Crash 4 out of the way, those are next. Cheers, dude :) Keep making awesome content.

i honestly never understood the hate for this game, but that mostly is just me absolutely loving this game so much. The actual kart racing definitely isn't that great compared to the other crash kart racers but nothing compares to clashing vehicles and straight up nuking everyone on the racetrack.

Great positive review! This is my most nostalgic video game of all time! What I would do to make the racing more interesting back then is to turn off the in-game music, keep the SFX and dialogue, and play my own music instead! Nowadays, you can run an emulator and your MP3s or Spotify or whatever, and you're all set! Try playing the game like that, it's a pretty interesting experience! Back when I first played the game like that though, I would disconnect one of the PS2 audio cables and hook up my MP3 player to said audio cable input onto my VCR/DVD Recorder. All I have to say is, thank God for emulators!😁🖒

I think Jak X Combat Racing had similar AI rubberbanding issues when it came to the turbo boost, like in Jak X, you can turbo non-stop if you know what you're doing, hell there's even a power-up in the game that temporarily gives you infinite turbo boost while at the same time preventing all of your opponents from using their turbo, yet they're STILL somehow keeping up

Cool game. The vehicles felt heavy and stiff compared to the last two racers.

This was literally the best arcade racer ever I don't care the ability for 2 racers to merge was so fun

They have to remaster this in a balanced manner, if this is done properly, it would be a big hit only because of their clashing idea. Crashing with ur friend online and destroying other people as a duo would be enticing

Tag Team Racing ain't that bad. I feel like it may be a little rigged towards the end with some of the challenges becoming way too difficult and complicated. That's just my opinion. Overall it's not a bad game and doesn't get the praise it should.

I actually was not a huge fan of this one. It just seemed to want to do too many thing and didn't do any of them particularly well. The game just felt like it was just packed with tedious fluff. The racing just got boring as I thought the tracks were kind of bland and just not as interesting as CTR/CNK's tracks. It had some interesting ideas, but the racing really was only half of the game and just particularly fun. It was a bit too combat-heavy for my liking. I feel like the combat got kind of stale and basically took away from the actual racing itself. I will give credit to the soundtrack. It actually fit the cartoonish theme of the game and was pretty enjoyable to the ears. There was some genuinely humorous dialogue as well. I just wish the gameplay held up a little better.

when you are going to play crash of the titans, i highly recommend playing on dolphin emulator! it looks so much better (when set properly) just crank up the resolution, set it to widescreen... the only bad thing is the controls, you have to tinker with it... set all shakings to left trigger, pointer movement to right stick and you can figure out the buttons

I know the program ended but id love to play these games again on my xbox as i have insane nostalgia for crash twinsanity and wrath of cortex (even if they are mediocre games)

Cortex’s weapons is bad? Nah mate. You haven’t tried his fully upgraded weapon during a rolling thunder. Really great and very very satisfying. I get so many KO’s that it’s ridiculous

I think Crash Tag Team Racing is a fun game where you could race around different race tracks and explore around the theme park. The racing part of the game is good. You can combine with other racers and use different weapons to take down opponents and sneak out your partner and get to first place very quickly. My only complaint about the race is that the drifting mechanic is different from CTR and CNK. You had to press the button quickly to get the power slide. I wish they would’ve kept the power slide for this game. I keep hitting on walls sometimes. The exploration of this game is fun. There are hidden collectibles to find and help unlock different characters and vehicles. I would’ve been better if each theme park has a boss race like in CTR and CNK. After winning all the races, you challenge the champion of that theme park example a dinosaur character who is really fast in racing or a princess character that knows all the shortcuts of the tracks. Some of them would require to have a partner to take them down. Then after you beat all the racing champions, you get to race against Willy Wumpa Cheeks as the final boss race. I think this game would have bring a lot more lore to the theme park about how it was build in the first place and how Pasadina became the racing champion. I first got this game on PSP and I still have it to this day. I would rent his game if anyone like racing game mixed with platforming exploration. The mini games are fun. The bowling was my favorite mini game because I keep getting strikes and get high scores.
