The issue is that people only reduce players to goals/assists, when his #1 role at Arsenal (at least) is off the ball, winning duels, making the team around him better by his runs and physical presence. The goals contributions are good but a bonus. Let's not forget that he's a versatile replacement for XHAKA & Granit only scored 8 goals in his superb last season. Kai is already halfway there a few mere months after joining a wildly different club & play style. Finally, 60-65m last Summer is the equivalent to 40-45m a Summer or 2 before as the price tags were utterly INSANE this past window. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Havertz is a 8 playing as a stricker at Arsenal whereas at Chelsea they played him as a out and out 9 without having a decent 10 behind him. At Arsenal he has been fantastic in midfield. Look at his interceptions and his tackles. He has improved our defensive stats so much and he has scored a bunch of goals. He was bad at Chelsea because he was played in the wrong position, at arsenal as a central midfielder he has been amazing.

IDK. Even if you dont count the goals, Kai Havertz has been having good games for Arsenal. His movement especially off the ball just makes our attack flow better with the space he creates. I think you just misunderstood who he is as a player. He is back in a similar role he played at Leverkusen and he's starting to shine again, that's no surprise. At Chelsea, he was being played as an out and out striker with basically no assistance on the wing for him during his time. There are very few strikers in the world that can handle that kind of burden, let alone someone who should not have been up there in the first place. Chelsea do this consistently with players, play players completely incorrectly

Havertz is sure looking good from what I am seeing! Seems to be getting a goal a game- well 4 goals in the last 5 games- and he works and tracks and does get himself into good positions.

The biggest point missing here is he is playing as midfielder in Arsenal & at Chelsea he was a false no 9. If he scores 10 goals a season its fine at Arsenal but Chelsea he was expected to score more that 15 or 17 every season. And based on what i have seen from him this season he is on track to become an upgrade on Granit Xhaka who was playing a similar role.

I think Chelsea massively misunderstood Havertz. I don’t think they knew what they bought. Havertz isn’t a 9, or a 10 in a traditional sense. Even now at Arsenal he plays a really bizarre hybrid role between an 8 and a 9 (A false 10 maybe? lol). Chelsea would’ve gotten a lot more out of Havertz with a more mobile team around him, or alternatively, a big 9 in front of him that could hold up play or drag defenders with him so Havertz can use his football IQ to attack the spaces that creates. He now has a very mobile team around him one in which any single one of the players around him have to be marked aggressively or else they score or assist. Can you guess how Havertz fits into this system? The same way I described earlier. All that movement creates space in which he thrives and now Arteta is bringing the best out of him. More to come from him, no doubt.

When Havertz was at Chelsea he got a goal or assist in the PL every 204 minutes, at Arsenal it's every 201 minutes, so basically the same.

Tbh Havertz is a tricky one to place on the field and was infuriating to watch as a Chelsea fan. BUT when Arteta signed him with Xhaka going out, I thought it was an inspired transfer. Replace Xhaka and you have a player, who will operate in the same half-space he was always good at during Chelsea and Leverkusen stitns, that pocket on the edge of the box or as the last runner in the box during a cross. I expected Havertz to perform better as a goal-scoring threat in this position than at 9 in Chelsea, let's see if he beats the tally.

I would compare it to the situation with Joelinton at Newcastle. He was brought in and played as a striker even though that isn’t and wasn’t a position he was ever good at. Just because a player is tall doesn’t mean they are a CF.

Lets break down what Kai is and what Kai isn't. And we will break it into two parts: Off the Ball and on the Ball. Off the ball, Kai positions properly to block passing lanes, apply pressure and track down. In terms of defensive contributuon of an attacking player, he is up there with the best while bearing in mind he isn't an out and out midfielder. On the ball, he isn't the game controller, the passer, the dribbler, of the taker that are Sake, Neli, and Odegaard. But we already have three world class players who control game, take on players, and distribute the ball intelligently in attacking mode. What he is a sneaker, a player who when all the defences is busy dealing with the above trio, he slides in brilliant spaces and appear as a genius outlet. This may happen only a couple of times in a game, but they are as lethal as they can be. Havertz bring a different dimension to Arsenal attack, a brilliant addition and might as well be the reason Arsenal win something this year in a very subtle and indirect way
