The image that is being used in this video is the VAR image. It is paused or captured at the wrong moment, 2 frames afterwards when the ball is about to be released from his foot, it's over the line. I support spain. I'm not from Germany but if VAR isn't able to show the deciding view then they should've left the view for the on field referees and linesman

That was a Japanese anime magic goal. Whole of Japan fans raised their hands giving the team some serious spirit energy. Realize that the goal prior to this one was scored by a blond haired Saiyan. .. I mean player.. who power shot that ball with enough force to blow off the goal keepers hands..... Yea.. and now right after we have this broken physics and reality concoction goal where the ball froze in time for an instant to be kicked at an impossible angle perfectly between the only 2 players that could stop it and right when it couldnt be more impossible.. a player was there to just run with the ball into the goal. We've seen in the past where the ball crosses completely into the goal and yet goal was not give during the pre-VAR era, lots of people had to swallow that bitter pill and wants technology to be brought in for a precise decision and what we saw today was just that, precision as how we all wanted so just accept it

It has nothing to do with technology. Humans made that decision and they decided out in the open to give a goal that clearly shows that the ball was out of play. Corruption is now out in the open.

@@bighands69 No I don't agree. As per the rule, the ball must fully cross the line only then it's out, agree? @@trumanlourdes4934 There is no technology that can accurately describe what they made in their decision. The video technology is to allow a human to watch and then make a decision. The ball was clearly out of play and do not start talking nonsense about the circumference of the sphere of the ball and the line as there is no means to integrate that in any mathematical form with that simple video. The line is on grass as well and is not an accurate line. A football organisation that was willing to allow thousands of slaves to die in constructing that world cup is willing to do anything including giving a goal when the ball was out of play.

The camera angle changes the perspective also. If the goal post was lined up with the line it changes the angle and that ball is even more in (and in play). It gives at least another inch or two meaning the ball had definitely not crossed completely over the line. Either way, it was the correct call and Japan earned the goal.

This rule has not changed for a long time, and as far as I know, the same rule and same technique is used for VAR in Germany and Spain. The controversy was that this time the ball was extremely close to the edge. This ball was on the ground, but imagine if the ball had been flying through the air. In this case, the ball would be out when all the edges of the ball left the line. Similar criteria apply to ground balls. Commendably, German technology was used in this determination.
